10 years ago a lot of these places were repossessed by the banks. They were put on the market very damaged by the previous owners who were mad to lose their property. They were then placed on the market and sold as-is. I am not sure that this property is one of those. But when we were looking to move from Virginia to Tennessee, we did a lot of research. Regardless, this place is fantastic and would make a great place to live.
I’m in Southern California and it’s the same story all over. People were broke back then and didn’t have the money for repairs. That’s why it’s sooooo important to get a professional home inspection
My husband is interested in finding a place to retire in the smokey mountains. His mother was originally from Tennessee and his grandmother lived in Sweetwater. We are already retired, we just want to spend the rest of our days in the smokey mountains. I was able to see some of it while we were going through Tennessee on our way to Oklahoma to visit our daughter. It is very beautiful.
The lake is on a dam and they drain the water down each winter so that when the snow melts and rain falls from the mountains it can fill back up and not overflow.

Hi Jo Ann... the price is on the website where we can adjust it if needed without re-editing the video. That property just closed last week. The list price was $545,000, it had multiple offers and ended up selling for $625,000. If you are looking for a similar property please email or give give me a call for a quick chat to help guide you in the right direction.
the lake is dammed and managed by the Tennessee Valley Authority to allow for the winter run off. So think baseball season... the lake is full. Then they lower the water during the off season (winter months) until the next season. It's still one of the top bass fishing lakes in the States.
there is no water in that cove in the winter, the lake drains in the fall, they don't tell you that n look how steep to go up n down to go when there is water
Why do many realtors not include how much property the house sits on? If I'm looking for something on 5-10 acres, I don't want to have to look at properties that are on 1/4 acre.
Hi Kris, I put the price on the property website as it sometime changes and its a pain editing the video. Send me an email with your contact info and I'll find something for you.

No... at that time of filming it was the end of the yearly drain of the lake (as it's dammed) by the TVA. The do this as a flood control measure. It is then filled up from early April through to the end of October.
yes Cathy, it is right on the lake. The level is low at the time of the video though because it was at end of season after TVA drains the dammed lake down substantially to allow for winter snow and rain run-off.
Well it looks like the lake is down you can see the bath ring so the other pictures of the lake must have been years ago. Every lake is drying up, I live in Arizona and lake Mead I’d down 145 feet. It won’t be long before there is no water for the cabin. Sorry but I’ll pass.
Hi Michael, this lake level is regulated by the TVA and is lowered each winter season to allow for runoff from snow and rain and then each spring is is filled back up again. No worries about lake water levels in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.
Hi Flor... the price is always listed on the website as it may change and saves editing the video. FYI, this one sold for $625,000. If you are in the market for a cabin please let me know and I'm happy to help out.
Hi Caryn... there is an HOA in this cabin community. Please send me an email or give me a call and we can have a quick chat and I'll answer any other questions you may have.
Lake is part of a managed dam. They start filling at end of April and then lower again at end of October I believe to allow for winter snowfall melts and rain. It seems to make sense to the powers that be.
