FUN FACT: Lilia Calderu {the older witch that is the SEER} played by Patti LuPone, who is a 50 plus year career, 2 time TONY and GRAMMY winning actress. So to have her singing back up and playing those tiny interments was an entertainment industry inside joke, that she loved.😄
@lukeleshnitzel327 As soon as it came out for streaming, I kept it on repeat for an hour 😂. Not only is the beat great but the messing behind the song makes it even better
@Chan I love these guys, but I was a bit bummed they missed out on the most touching part of this episode by talking and messing around with their phones.
When they were putting into the spell what they wanted in the replacement green witch, Alice says "bring some Advil" which is an anagram for Vidal Also each person was a 60s/70s rock idol. Alice was Janis Joplin, Jennifer was Donna Summer, Teen was Sonny Bono, Lilia was Liza Minnelli, and Agatha and Vidal were both incarnations of Cher.
This is my favorite episode in the whole show. The last scene with the almost kiss between Agatha and Rio and super tender/soft/vulnerable hug. Uuughh, SO GOOD! The chemistry between Agatha and Rio is through the roof! The absolute YEARNING you can feel from both of them in that last scene was palpable.
God I love the scene with the song. Patti Lupone playing a different instrument every time the camera pans to her is exactly the kind of camp I wanted from this show lol. This was actually my favorite episode I think, although eps 6 and 7 came close.
When it comes to character development, I just wanted to point out that Alice and Teen always have special moments between them each episode. Very nice considering Alice is a protection witch.
22:37 Agreed. Not a huge surprise that the first Marvel project led by LGBT and women characters was given the lowest budget to date of any Marvel project. The brilliance, creativity, and extremely hard work of everyone involved in "Agatha All Along" is truly remarkable; especially, when you compare the results of their efforts to other projects with significantly higher budgets.
Agatha was a popular character in one marvel show and they decided to give her her own show. She is not very prominent in the comics and didn't have that many fans. Of course it won't have a big budget, no matter the sexuality. I only watched it because people said it was good - agatha as a character never interested me before.
You guys need to listen to the actual Lorna Wu version to the ballad of the witches road. It's a masterpiece. They made an actual rock song all for her mom.
They made AAA very Halloween coded, combining witches with horror touches, and of course timing the release of the final two episodes on the day before Halloween. I just love this show. Liked the first three episodes first time around, then episode 4 is when it caught fire for me, 5 escalated, 6 was magnificent, 7 probably the best written TV episode of the year in all genres, just beating out the famous/notorious Heartstopper Season 3 episode 4. Episodes 8 and 9 of AAA extremely satisfying for me. But going around again on rewatches is SO rewarding. Episode 2 in particular is extremely elevated in retrospect in things that were planted AND things that were misdirects.
In terms of the demon, i assumed since the house was 70s inspired the demon was meant to look like one you would see in a 70s movie. So the quality of it wouldn't be as good as what could be created today.
I literally just sat down to do some quilting. Perfect timing to drop an episode. I love watching these reactions while I quilt (I think I've watched the Peacemaker playlist like a dozen times over the last quilt season. Lol) LET'S GO!
Diamond-Dave: I fucking LOVE True Blood, and you’re absolutely right: the introduction-song-montage in episode one was VERY “True-Blood-coded”, that was the first thought I personally had watching this show. I can’t WAIT FOR YALL TO SEE NEXT EPISODE!!!!! It’s probably my favorite episode of the whole show - 5 and 6, they were PHENOMENAL.
Not just the outfits and aesthetics are based in the 70's. The shots, editing, music cue, etc are all the way they would have shot it in the 70's. Even the curse is in that style. This was heavily influenced by Suspiria (1977)
It's refreshing how truly blind these reactions are lol. This is probably the first channel where no one has any idea about Teen's identity. Who here thinks they won't get the upcoming reveal? PS: this isn't a meanspirited comment. It's really fun that you genuinely don't know anything about the characters going in.
I prefer when the reactions are genuine! In some cases you can tell the reactors have been on the wiki page and/or the forums in advance, which is not as fun
I agree with you. That's why I'm here because they have super cute, genuine reactions. Many others I've seen have obviously been told, or saw, what happened and they are just SEEING it for the first time, but have obviously KNOWN about it. These guys are awesome!
Cool scene of them all singing/playing instruments to that song, I'd be the drummer as that'd be my favourite one to play 🥁 you all holding up your phones was funny! 16:16 Quinn "you guys can do what you want with your phones, I'm looking at demon witch!" 🤘 & 20:42 liked his high pitched "Rio" too Hehe 🤭 & YES!! DIAMOND DAVE! THERE LOADS OF US WHO WANT THEM TO SEE TRUE BLOOD! AWESOME SHOW! 🙏💙❤️
31:39 Nope. I disagree. Watch the whole series, it'll feel very complete when you see the story in its entirety. This is one of the better MCU Disney Plus series in a while. Hurry up and watch the next episode and keep going before someone spoils you all in the chat =( EDIT: 31:55 Are you taking commercials into account? 30 minute shows typically run for 22 minutes with 8 minutes of commercials. 60 minute shows are around 45 (sometimes less) with 15 minutes of commeicals. Streaming services are doing us a favor cutting the commercials out. I don't see was the issue is with runtimes if the story told feels complete. All of these stories have a solid start and cliffhanger. We aren't going to have an conclusive wrapup with these episodes as the whole series is one big story. If these stories were episodic like Modern Family or What If...? then yeah, they'd wrap up at the end, but these stories are not that.
I haven't rewatched the series yet (this is technically my second watch I guess) and I knew I'd want to watch it again but there are so many details I'm noticing in your videos (and refraining from mentioning in the comments), guess this is my sign to rewatch the full episodes already so I can talk to myself instead ahaha
Look, I gotta say that they did a really good job regarding witchcraft. It's a bit fantasized, BUT tarot and sigils here are well represented. As well as enchantments (the song included). People have no idea how good marvel did with this
@@jahnoyawalker4227 based on this comment and at least one other you obviously don’t like the show so why are you here responding to other people‘s comments? It’s a little weird.
The good old 80s playing records backwards. Lol. Anyone remember the Petra song that had a garbled section that when you played backwards it actually said "why you looking for the devil when you should be looking for the lord"? Probably not. They were a Christian rock band from the 80s that sounded exactly like the band Kansas. LOL Admittedly, my atheist ass still has their "Rose Colored Stained Glass Windows" song in my Spotify playlist. It ain't bad.
They had no scenes together but became friends. Aubrey has said her main reason for taking this role was to work with KH. That and to play a witch. And yes, their chemistry is off the charts.
I actually like that streaming shows don't have a standard episode length. I think some shows are too long, and though I'll probably never watch Stranger Things, having the recent episodes be upwards of 1.5 hours is insane. But sometimes with broadcast television, people would be required to extend scripts or episodes just so that they would meet the required length, which could occasionally hurt some episodes by dragging them out. Or alternatively, they have to cut stuff from other episodes, resulting in a rushed product. With streaming, there is generally less concern about meeting a certain episode length, and thus no incentive to drag or rush episodes. They just tell as much story as they need to tell. Some of Disney's earlier shows, especially their Marvel shows, were made the same way their movies are made, so they didn't necessarily result in great television even if every other aspect was good, and they had quite a bit of cut content, as well as reshoots. Now, I do prefer if a given show has an average that every episode tries to meet, but if one episode needs an hour, and another only needs 40 minutes, I think that's fine. What I don't want to start seeing is one episode being 15-20 minutes, the next being an hour and a half, the third being 45, and then after that we get 30. If it bounces around too much, it becomes uneven, and can make you question a lot of the BTS decisions. A lot of the same issues with broadcast episode lengths would also apply to their season lengths, which is why I generally like shorter seasons, because, again, they don't really have to stretch out their story. That's not to say streaming shows don't have problems, I'm sure they do. But generally, I think the quality remains consistent throughout any given show from one episode to the next.
Some of the lines in this episode have a lot more meaning with the hindsight of having seen the whole series. Not saying which ones so I don't spoil anything.
Reminder to fix the spelling of "miss" for "what did we mss". again, for starters, an "i". I feel like you're missing a lot of little, subtle details the show's throwing at you, but that's ok. They'll punch you in the face with them before the end of it.

She’s someone who has been underrated and should have had a bigger career than she’s had in film and tv. She should probably have like 5 Tony’s tbh
I know episode 7 is THE episode, but to me, this episode was so much fun and one of my favorites. This is my favorite version of the song as well

This is my second favorite for sure.
You're right, the plot in episode 7 is really the best.
Why do people always try and spoil upcoming episodes? Shut up about it and let them enjoy stuff....
I love that Alice's mum made her song a protection spell to protect her daughter. A mother's love never dies, even after she's gone❤

I don't know Latin, but apparently, the end of the spell to summon Rio is literally translated to, "it's not easy being green," Lol
And Alice's request for Advil was a nice touch as well; Rio VIDAL = ADVIL. Love this show so much. Even the little things mean something. 🩵
Poor Aubrey I feel so bad for her. I have a similar experience in my life. My prayers go out to her and the family 🙏🏽🤍
The discussion around the fire about their scars is a reference to the scar conversation in Jaws that was used to bond the characters in that movie.

Absolutely do not dismiss Lillia's random little outbursts. And while you're at it, take note of the backgrounds and cinematography sometimes.
