hey i just wanna say thank you for this video! i tried to play istaria a few years back but didnt have time to get into it... im still gonna play free for a while to see if i like it enough now, but your extensive explanations on the windows and where you placed them helped me a lot lol. mmos with loads of windows are always daunting to me when i dont know how to set them up in a way that is efficient!

It has been greenlit on steam :). You may find it among the greenlit games if you look for it. But i think the current devs are waiting for the engine upgrade or at least until all previously created issues have been fixed.
Heya Prysm, have you tried the new game Day of Dragon's? It still needs a lot of polish, but it's an all dragons only MMO. I still come back to Istaria for fun too.
What a pleasant and well thought out tutorial for this game. Sorry for the "but" that's coming next, but you should have included the mappack 3.7 here too. Easy to get lost in this game for a new player. Too bad this isn't on the homepage or first video when you google Istaria. I'm sad after reading the forums that Ethereal Thunder was 100 strong only to return to game 1/20 and only one of you were playing.
Ooof umm, it's not an existing mod. I asked where the picture folder is for the launcher, deleted all existing pictures and put mine in. So the launcher had no other way but to use mine :P. Wich folder it was... i'll have to check that again. I just forgot it over time XD. But i might make a video about it. Haven't made one in ages. It's time.
Can i ask something?i can't create dragon,problem in name,it just writes not english letters,and it says me "Badly formated first name-Only letters allowed" Idk what to do..i want play in it..Please,help me..
I guess that means you can only take english letters. You have to get english letters from somewhere. Idk what letters you are using but maybe you can try picking a name online? Try asking the developers for help by sending a ticket or asking them directly in their discord: discord.gg/vH2Uug

This game is older than WoW... they need to update their graphics somewhat at least. And make the website more professional looking. I think they'd do better if they did. But that would require a lot of money and who knows if they have enough to invest in something like that.
It is older than wow indeed. Unfortunately the previous owners did no good to it. It was sold 3 times as far as i know. Now the current owner Virtrium has to undo all the stupid things the pre-owners have done to it and they are doing a really good job so far :). A change to Unreal Engine is planned wich would also end in better graphics! But that is a bunch of work for a small team. I'll try and do what i can to help em because this game has so much potential!
@@pryzmthedragon That might make some difference, especially with the media storm Blizzard's received in the last year and specifically this last week. But they need to improve the game's GUI also. Make it more intuitive and less intimidating for new players. If they can manage that also then the game could get a huge new lease on life. Especially with the size and scope it seems to have from just looking at videos of it. The character creation process is something people would consider incredibly clunky now because of passing from one window in a museum (of sorts) to the next to select race. I don't yet know what else to 'complain' about. It does appear to be the most authentic roleplaying video game experience I've come across, but that's just first impressions from the outside looking in only at videos -- no gameplay yet. But it also seems to have the kind of hidden appeal WoW Classic had: the game isn't a complete faceroll like retail has or had become. But problems for Blizzard could translate into gains for Virtrium.

When you click on the Register button it takes you to the login page rather than to a registration page. So I finally clicked on the link to create an account. That took me to the right page, but it feels like these people don't want new players for their game since when I put my chosen password to register I *_literally_* copied and pasted it both times! Yet, the page insists that the input is different from one to the other. *_That_* could be causing them a greater lack of players than they even know, especially with the length passwords are supposed to be nowadays (4 words minimum per some sources, not a phrase, just random words according to some of those sources). I don't even know who or how to contact about this, which is why I'm replying here. Perhaps I'm missing some hidden information. I'll reply to my reply if I figure out how to make it work.

Maybe Virtrium needs $, I dunno, but the site looks like it's older than the game. Beyond that, the "tip" next to the first password input box on the registration page says "6 or more characters," when it should say "6 - 15 Characters. It should be updated to present day standards and all you to make passwords as long as 64 characters, but it doesn't. And that character limit only applies to the first box for the password, not the second for the confirmation. Limiting my password to 15 characters was all I had to do.
