Moomba festival is held annually in Melbourne, Australia. Run by the City of Melbourne, it is Australia's largest free community festival. The Melbournian tradition is celebrated over four days, incorporating the Labour Day long weekend, from Friday to the second Monday in March.

Mate you do an awesome job in filming this and even though it's not my Moomba timeline (1980's) it's still great what you've done and highly appreciated! I've always known that somehow the channel 7 coverage is absolutely pathetic to say atleast these days...When I did miss on the parade only 2 times throughout the 80's as a kid (maybe 1986/87?!!), it was a television fest!!! From 11am to 3pm not 11am to 12am?! WTH is that?! Channel 7 either really dropped the ball here!! You proved to me via your coverage that it's still pretty damn good even though it start from where it used to finish?! Maybe 7 ought to hire you!!! Thank you!! And subscribed!!

@@NinjaAussie , it was really different time back then!! We started from the opposite end like where Melbourne Central was or further back all the way to the shrine!!! It was way wider via street length, had an iconic song, the floats were numerous and 3 times the size as of and it was less cultural morenational Aussie like clowns on stilts, life savers and other iconic Australian iconics back then. We had balloons and tons of confetti and there a massive mess on the streets where any ary of street cleaner trucks swept all the mess over the road!!! You might be able to find vintage Melbourne Moomba decades on TH-cam or atleast photos mate. The 1980's was a decadent time compared to now...You can find alot Melbourne 1980's to get an idea of it all and hopeful timeline. Good luck to you!!!
