As a hawks supporter I just want to appreciate how good Tom Stewart's run from half back was against the swans. I absolutely loved his effort

I, a fan of rugby union and American football, can tell the brilliance of the tackles, but hey, those bumps! I was so surprised bumping is legal, that I googled “AFL bump rules”!
I’m a newbie fan of AFL, the more knowing the rules and skills, the more this sport amazes me. What an exciting sport!

Dear AFL and TV Broadcasters, I would also love to have digital broadcasts where I have the option of switching the commentary off and the crowd noise left audible. I get so sick of being shouted at by James Brayshaw and Brian Taylor. Also - do we actually need commentary where TV is concerned? "He picks the ball up and kicks it into the forward line" - yes, I KNOW that already because I am watching it on a screen! Some people like having commentary - others prefer to watch this great game without commentary. I know I'm in the minority, but perhaps an option in the future?

Friendly reminder that hutchings handballed it 15 metres the moment rioli tackled him and still hawthorn got the free kick. Mark Neeld couldve coached three premierships if they’d had the same umpiring hawthorn got during that era

I feel once you bounce the ball, no matter if you dispose of the ball correctly from a tackle it’s holding the ball. They’ve had plenty of “prior opportunity” if they don’t call those, umpires would cop even more abuse

Soccer is the most powerful sport on earth. It has four billion fans and is loved by all countries on earth. AFL on the other hand has only six million fans and is loved by four Australian states.
Soccer is a sport for all religions, races, origins and nationalities. AFL is a sport for white Aussies.

Soccer is a European game. Of course it is going to be one of the most popular sports if most of the countries in the world were colonised and invaded by these Europeans. The cultures and sports of these nations were destroyed and millions of people were killed to make way for the European culture and it’s game, not such a “beautiful game” now isn’t it.
Australian Football was a game originally invented by our First Nation’s people which was called “Marn Grook”. Eventually the game would be noticed by the Europeans settlers and it would be shaped into the beautiful game that it is today.
If soccer was really that powerful as you thought it was, it would’ve already been the number one sport long ago in the 1800’s-1900’s. However the Australian people didn’t want to follow the European game of football, why would they want to if the Australian game of football was more exciting, action packed and not overly repetitive (unlike soccer).
Soccer theoretically should have been number 1 long ago, besides the nation who invaded and colonised the Great Southern Land invented the bloody game. But the power of Australian Football withstood the European game due to the uniqueness of the sport and the excitement that it attracted from the Australian public. If you ask me, I find it pretty embarrassing that the nation who invented soccer couldn’t make the sport the number one game in it’s own colony!
Fast forward to today, Australian Football is at the best it has been in its lifetime in terms of popularity across Australia. Did you know that 1 in every 23 Australians are a member of an AFL club? Meanwhile, the A-League gets less supporters to its games than the NRL and the national soccer team has only played in one World Cup Semi Final in it’s 100 history. Soccer may be the number 1 participated sport in Australia, however that is because the other sports that are available to play in Australia are more physical and demanding. Rugby is a very physical sport where only the strongest and better body types can play, Australian Football is not as physical but requires more stamina and skill which can be tough for new players who haven’t played the sport as a kid/teenager.
I remember hearing that people thought that soccer was going to be the number one sport in the 80’s. That never happened. You’re claiming that soccer is going to be number one in 2050? Have a look at your sport’s history in Australia bud. The national team is an embarrassment, the A-League lacks fans, the sport is just too simple and boring compared to AFL.
Don’t try persuade me that the Socceroos will do better in the future, they won’t. Academies and “professional” regional soccer clubs in Australia cost way too bloody much anyways. The talent pool is only limited to the rich. Most of the most famous soccer players came from slums, poor neighbourhoods or some average neighbourhood. The only players you see coming from rich households are the ones who are the sons of famous soccer players. Australia’s real soccer talent is being blocked from being allowed to show off their skills to the nation’s top teams and selectors because of their socioeconomic status. Why should people try to become soccer players if it’s too bloody expensive to even try to become one? It would be much cheaper to become an AFL player or an Olympian.
Soccer doesn’t deserve to be Australia’s number one sport and it never will. Australian Football has a proud history in Australia that soccer can’t compare to. It’s a rich man’s sport in Australia and if you’re not willing to pay the big bucks just to have a shot, you’ll never make it anywhere in soccer in Australia.
To answer your spam, soccer will never become number 1 in Australia. It simply doesn’t deserve to. AFL is a game for everyone and does not discriminate against your socioeconomic status and is an open playing field for those who have the skills and determination to become a true AFL professional.
You have truly wasted 10 years of comment spamming. Delete your spam accounts before you waste more years of your life defending a losing battle Jayden Loader
