This is an excellent review. The only thing that annoys me is that there's no level of humidity control. I'd have loved a feature to use the AC to dehumidify once the house goes above a certain level. Sometimes I find myself manually switching the AC on for a few minutes just for this purpose.
Watching as I type this, maybe you'll answer this question (I just heard in the video "fan can be turned on to "automatic" as well). I'm in "warm" Minnesota, I have an outdoor furnace and LP as a secondary heat source. I use the wood furnace until it gets below 20 degrees consistently. When using the Wood furnace, I'd like to run the Fan based upon the temperature, i.e. come on to heat, go off when set temp is reached. Then when it's below 20, switch over to LP, which I'm assuming would me simply turning on Auto Mode, which would run the LP and AC in the summer like a normal thermostat would. So ultimately the question is, Can the fan ONLY be ran and turn on off as house temp requirements demand?
As far as I'm aware the fan can either be on all the time or set to automatic which is tied to the unit itself running. I don't think there's a way to do what you're describing.
I also have an outdoor wood burner. I use a second thermostat to trigger the "fan on/off" of the original thermostat. I plan to do the same with the Wyze. In addition to the furnace, I have 2 room heaters and hope to be able to turn them on/off based on the wyze remote sensor temperatures and a wyze switch. Don't have the hardware yet, anybody know if I can trigger a switch based on remote sensors temperature?

The one thing that I can’t understand is how is it possible that any thermostat/sensor combination will work efficiently without actuated baffles(doors) in the ductwork or at the vents(registers). Seems to me that the heat/AC will run to satisfy the occupied room, while continuing to heat/cool all other rooms even though they don’t matter. Am I incorrect??
Yep. Depending on how things are in your house this could cost you more money or save you money. At the end of the day, they seem to definitely be prioritizing comfort with these sensors. That being said, with them I have been able to lower my normal set temperature by 2° and remain comfortable.
Looking for a method to obtain the temperature / humidity while away from home. It appears that I must buy a Wyze Thermostat (which has no use for me since I have mini splits). Or, perhaps, the does thermostat control minisplit via infrared? What other ways can I monitor temperature/humdity while away from home?

This type of behavior is really bad for the heater and it seems to be a bug in the code. Has this happened to you?
Just to follow up, I seem to have resolved my issue. It was not a problem with the thermostat, but a problem with my heater tripping its thermal limit switch. This caused both the heater and thermostat to power cycle before the heating stage was completed. The thermal limit was tripped because my heaters fan speed was set to low. Glad its not the thermostat as it is a really nice product at a decent price point.
@@Lagos3sgte I’m confused with how the thermostat knows which heater to send heat to. Basically you are saying if I’m in my living room. The thermostat will tell the boiler to send heat only to that room? Wouldn’t my other heaters come on in the house. I have a gas system as well
@@KhaiMahase that's not the point of the sensor. The point is, for example, you have a thermostat in the hall way. You also have sensors in the bedrooms. The temperature at the hall way is 68. Temperature in your bedroom is 68. The temperature you've set in the thermostat is 72. So it should come on? Nope, it doesn't, because it detects you're in the living room where it already is 73. So it ends up doing nothing.
I like that this model has an actual dial instead of that touch nonsense that never works right, and no mirror reflective business I can actually see the temperature. But the fact that you can't set or adjust the schedule right there on the device, you have to go find your phone and charge it up and log in is the deal breaker. Im out :/ My search goes on for a money saving thermostat...
@@two_legit1832 I bought the Ecobee Enhanced and ended up returning it. They could not get the Away feature to work, they had no setting to display the forecast all the time which made that feature useless (I can just check the weather online). And the forecast turned out to be innacurate anyway. I finally ended up getting the Google Nest Learning 3, but was careful to wire it up correctly. Then I turned all the learning OFF. I just want it to keep track of my usage and set my own schedule. So far happy with it.

It has not. My heat is a gas system and it's been flawless so far.
