    Sony Michel: Patriots have proven one thing about running backs, they want a committee. Michel did carry them to a Super Bowl though. And injuries are a valid point

    The fact that he didn't have that many carries is a plus. He wasn't ran into da ground so is less prone 2injury being that his body has had more time 2mature before being beat up on. • @JackassHill
    @JackassHill 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I have to disagree about Jacobs. I don't think 3rd round is too high (although 4th is much more appealing). Here are my reasons: 1. I am NEVER afraid of drafting a rookie running back who establishes himself as the guy in training camp and preseason. You'll know whether or not this is true by the time Week 1 rolls around. Reporters watch practices, and you watch the games. NFL teams will wear the tread right off of a rookie, and their bodies can generally handle it depending on how much wear and tear they saw in college. 2. I would not take Aaron Jones before him. Just pick up his backup whenever he gets hurt, because whoever plays RB for GB is going to produce roughly the same way. I don't know if I'd take Mack either, because Mack's production is inconsistent, and he also has significant injury history.
    The main concern for me with Jacobs is whether or not he can catch the ball. So, you want to keep an eye on camp reports as to how he's utilized, and watch his preseason games. If Gruden trusts him catching the ball, I think he will attempt to turn him into a 3 down back. Not all coaches are Matt Nagy or Josh McDaniels. Just because coaches use three different backs one year, doesn't mean they always will. It just means their primary 1st and 2nd down back sucks, so they have to put someone else in at times. I know about Pittman/Alstott, but look at what he did when he got Cadillac Williams. He became the exclusive 1st and 2nd down back. He continued using Pittman as a receiver, but interestingly, when Earnest Graham started getting most of the work, Graham led their RBs in targets. Williams kept getting work, but he never threw the ball to him anymore. That tells me he just didn't trust Cadillac as a receiver. Reading too much into Gruden's history? Possibly, but old dogs don't learn new tricks. If Jacobs, like most Bama backs can't be trusted as a receiver, then expect him to be primarily 1st, 2nd, and goalline. Still well worth drafting in the 4th-5th round, because they don't want to have to rely on the alternatives. All he has to do is separate himself in the preseason.

    • @dodu8281
      @dodu8281 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      i am with u. i agree with those backs on the list except jacobs. he will be involved a lot. hes the best back, best runner, best blocker, 1st round back. i dont see any better option than him. but id take montgomery before him. bears backs always produce. he will be the guy.

    • @JackassHill
      @JackassHill 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @mysideboob
      @mysideboob 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't draft bama backs typically, because outside of Ingram I can't name a single back that's been good. And Ingram has been the only one that can catch. It looks like the volume will be there, but I just don't trust bama backs. They just have a good system in bama.

      Maybe I could change your mind but Fournette was a killer his rookie season, the problem was that the Jags were irresponsible with his touche as he ran the ball 30 times a game and got beat up and couldn't keep it going the end of his rookie season. Follow that with him trying to come back on a horrible offense and you have the last two years in a nutshell. He's very healthy right now and has come into a much better offense, one that will not run him into the ground. He's looked like himself this preseason. But hey I like that he's dropping in adp. The Fantasy Headliners = Obviously I can not promise that you are wrong because I can’t see the future. I do not believe that Josh Jacobs is overvalued. He is in an offense with a good QB, offensive minded head coach, and improved offensive line. He also just had AB added as a receiver to spread the field. He is a pass catching back also. He did not have a huge workload at Alabama, but Alvin Kamara didn’t even get to play at Alabama so he went to Tennessee. Josh grew up homeless and is a fighter, don’t sleep on him is all I’m saying.

      The Fantasy Headliners I’m a Redskins fan and I agree, our coaching staff is suspect but one things for sure and that’s we are going to be running the ball a lot this year, you have to take our QB situation into account if Haskins starts, I believe we’re going to ease him in. If Keenum starts we’re definitely going to have to run the ball because he’s not a gunslinger. With AP still on the squad we’re probably going to take the Denver approach and use AP and Guice like they did Lindsey and Royce Freeman. Guys is a sleeper this year

      @@TheFantasyHeadliners I take Pat's RBs all the time yearly and win with them, if you study the gameplan you know who to play. Harris will be in the Blount Role and Sony in the Lewis role. White gets his PPR points and if edelman etc is injured he gets slot work, that's when he is most valuable. Burkhead is a after thought utility guy at the moment, too many injuries. AP will either beast and they work Guice in slowly, or he gonna get hurt and its Guice time. When you look at how low these picks are, your getting a ton of value and handcuffing your backs late.. Harris, Sony, Guice Ap, I would even Aim to land White too, Pat's put the pts up, they are becoming a running team, pay attention its very easy between gameplan and the hot hand on which Pat's back to use. I use a combo often of Pat's backs white/Sony, or Lewis/Blount for example, I use strategies like this often and win leagues and $$$$$ often!

    If you don't think Guice is worth his ADP, in what round do you see him having value? I drafted him in my keeper league, in the last round last year, knowing he was out for the season. Now I have an opportunity to keep him for a 13th round pick. Worth it, or stay away all together?

    I agree on most, but hope you're wrong about guice. Totally valid points Tho. And Id spend my final pick on Jones in a 12 team. They've been talking him up A bit, but that's nothing new. They talk up every player in training. But he has got to have some skill. Doesn't he? They invested A fairly high pick on him. And Barber is garbage. His numbers came from volume and that's it. And Ellington is just a 3rd down Rb. Always has been. I'm surprised he was still around. But you definitely could be right.

    If we are talking based on straight ADP, I personally am staying away from leveon bell in the first round. Currently #6 in the ESPN mock drafts. I think it’s kind of nuts to draft him that early when he’s been out of football for a year, and is getting behind a much worse offensive line than what he’s used to. He is still an elite talent in his abilities, and I think he is a serviceable low end RB1, but would feel better as a RB2. If I had the 6th pick in a draft, I would much rather get one of those elite wideouts than draft bell.
    You may call me crazy, but I also think Derrick Henry is way overrated. ADP currently at 32. I cannot see him as a sure fire RB2, as he simply isn’t proven enough. Sure, he had a couple of insane games... but unless he falls to me in the 5th or 6th round (which I doubt) rather than the 3rd, I am surely staying away from him. I would much rather have Aaron Jones or kerryon Johnson, who are right around him in the rankings.

    Great content! I might add Freeman and Carson to the list. Waiting on a dynasty rookie mock draft

      I actually don't mind Freeman as my RB2... Still great value

      Freeman has a horrible schedule and injury concerns. At his current ADP, hard pass.

      @@MurpTheSavage - I kinda have to disagree some... As a third round pick... I don't mind Freeman... Every RB is one hit away from being done... 13 indoor games, super upgraded OL, tons of outside weapons to pull defenders away and minimal committee in ATL...I don't mind it... Heck People are taking Fournette ahead of Freeman according to ADP!

      I agree that I'd rather have Freeman than Fournette. For the value and safety, I'd rather have Johnson, Jones and Henry instead of Fournette also.

    I’m in a keeper league. Keep Joe Mixon in the 3rd or Aaron Jones in the 10th? And should I still go rb heavy regardless or start the draft with an elite receiver from the 4th spot 10 team ppr. Thanks.

      100% keep both, I have never played keeper league, but getting Jones in the 3rd would be a steal, let alone the 10th. And Mixon tends to go in the 2nd or 3rd so I would keep him too.

      Also since you already will have 2 elite rbs, I would get one more and then go WR or get like Kelce or Kittle.

    Have to chime in on this. 1) Good content, I subscribed - BUT... I strongly disagree with your take on Jacobs because of his ADP... I'll take Jacobs all day over Aaron Jones. Why? 1) Jones has never been healthy. 2) GB will always be a pass happy 1st - when is the last time GB produced a quality RB2, let alone RB1? Exactly. Jacobs, although not as gifted as Saquan, will gets TONS more volume than Jones. And 3), Carr has turned into Captain Check-down since his broken leg, just ask Amari Cooper - which helps Jacobs. Rd3 is a great spot for him in a 10+ team league. Love to chat fantasy!

      Thx Keith... I just dont see it with Jacobs... Heck he isnt even signed yet i dont think... Missing out on all kinds of offseason workouts and is going to be going to a team that has struggled to run the ball since Nam... Plus we really dont know how he is going to hold him... This will be the biggest workload he's ever gotten...

    As a Bears fan I would mention Montgomery and Jordan Howard for the BEars and Eagles - they are decent backs, but AVOID. Both Committees and Howard doesn't really do receiving.

    I am avoiding LeSean McCoy unless he gets traded to another team
