Funny how when you hear a song, it can take you right back to the last time you heard it. I remember having this song on repeat when I broke up with my girl almost a year ago. Something told me to look this song up on TH-cam and sure enough it was there..and now I can't get it out of my head. It's so beautiful and the same time it hurts to listen to it 'cause it hits so hard. I mean, coming from a dude, this may sound strange, but still, this song sums up EVERYTHING that I was feeling.
YES! Love Andy Samberg. I dunno how I feel about that movie. It was certainly difficult to watch. It was so hard to watch, but the ending was for the best. The emotions are so complex, and I did not know what to feel. They were clearly still in love but they kinda missed the train there and it was time to let go. About the song, I can't stop listening to it since I heard it in the movie, I have never been with someone or felt loved in my twenty-three years of life, this song makes me go through strange melancholia of the things I have never even had the just to experience, how much I wish I could.
I definitely can see the similarities in the chord progression, but it also sounds like a pretty logical progressiom that is most likely used in many other songs. I think what's really important is the neuance and unique sort of rap the Lily Allen adds to this foundation.
Don't know of "Rosie", but I was brought here by other songs from the album "Alright, Still", having initially heard "Everything's Just Wonderful". This one made me cry. Also. this is a different version. All the vocals sound slightly different in this version. The harmony voices in the background are alot more prevalent in the version I hear on Spotify, barely audible in this one.
