Nice tutorial on lettering. Good simple to do lettering. Easy ways to differ lettering without having to Lear a whole lot of fonts.

Loved seeing all the different styles of lettering you use in your planner & how you make the letters. The only possible example I could think that you didn't mention was when trying to "center" a word in a space, try to start with the centermost letter and work your way out in both directions. For example...Centering the word "Weekend"...start with the "k" and then let that help you determine the spacing between each letter. If that makes sense. Great video...TFS!!!

Really liked your suggestions for lettering.! Estrella means star in Spanish. The two l’s make a y, so it sounds like Estraya.

This was very helpful. I’m so bad at writing!! When the camera angle allowed for the nib on the paper to be seen it made it easier for me to understand what you were doing. But I’m artistically challenged. 😆 Thanks for doing this video. Your planner spreads are beautiful!!!

Thank you so much! I’m in search of my style in the planning. I already know that I don’t like my cursive in my planner pages, despite thinking my cursive is really beautiful. I just don’t like it. I think it becomes busy. So I’m following what you say and changing it up. For somethings I do use cursive, another ones I do brush lettering, that I’m finally getting good at (2 years of practice when I can😂) and know I’m experimenting other fonts like the ones you showed here. Without serif (the tails kkk), with serif, and the other many different ways. I’m having fun learning to write all those fun fonts. It’s taking time because due to my diseases I feel pain all the time so I can’t write for long times and I don’t have the firmness to write sometimes a perfect letter. It gets shacky, but I’m a persevering person. Won’t give up.

I haven’t tried to do any lettering yet in my spreads, other than regular handwriting. I want to branch out and try some different techniques, but I’ve been scared I’m going to screw it up. Thanks for sharing this with us I really need to just let go and try it.

For years I’ve been told that I have beautiful handwriting and I try cursive in my planning, BUT this video has shown me a few lettering tips that I do not have in my repertoire. I’m one for learning daily, so man, you can do this type of video on a regular basis and I’d be cheering you on!!

I have always loved how you mix up the lettering...I totally agree it adds interest...just a little umph lol - I’m currently looking for some thicker pens/markers...what are your suggestions for a newbie wanting to try to get better at letting and using different styles/fonts?
I love using a tombow dual brush pen for different fonts but not the brush side. Too difficult. A tombow fudenosuke is great for beginner brush lettering
