These guys are some pretty serious intellectual lightweights. No offense to The Partially Examined Life, but this is some mildly snarky, pretty seriously plodding intellectual posturing and jibber-jabbering and not much else, to be kind about it. From otherwise very much middling intellects but nevertheless college educated, thanks to mass university attendance, and thus sufficiently fluent in the jargon, and in the case of academic philosophy the actual substance itself, to keep a podcast going for an hour. And quite emblematic of the dying, overextended, effete society that is the enlightenment West, and the USA, in these days of late stage capitalism, or whatever. The podcast is better for online people-watching, and not any sort of significant philosophical stimulation. Though for myself obviously I'm not terribly impressed with the western philosophical tradition, to say the least, and consider it a rather grotesque curiosity, and perversion, in the ongoing evolution of human consciousness and thought. Something to gawk at, and largely avoid just for your own quality of life. Though I was intrigued with GE Moore, with a presumed good British horse sense, and at a certain point simply exhausted with the charade of so much of western philosophy even though that is the life he chose, that he just said screw it, I'm going to call a spade a spade. Or in his case a hand a hand, with fingers. See? I'm moving my fingers! I have five fingers, one two three four five! And I'll leave it to the intellectual hyenas to tear that simple statement, nay that simple truth to shreds....
