    On level 1 atm. I write down 90% of the material on my IFT video lectures.
    (For memorization and quick review later)
    This takes me 3 hours to note down 1 video lecture. 1 reading usually has 4 video lectures.
    Making me complete 1 reading in approx 4-5 days with notes, given i put 3 hours/day.
    (I do practice questions from ift for a reading once i complete it)
    Once the syllabus is completed through the above method i will use the notes and practice questions. That's going to be my strategy.
    Note: 2 friends of mine adviced me this method who personally used this strategy to pass both levels 1&2 in their 1st attempt using IFT videos and converting them to notes.
    Hoping people can share their study strategies as well.

    I take moments to think about things to learn. I used to write notes a lot then I realized I wasn’t actually learning, I was just copying and pasting. I learned that if I just take a couple moments to think about something, I will understand it and retain the understanding. Basically writing things doesn’t do much if anything. Unless one writes down things in their own words which comes from their own understanding. Just copying and pasting exact words etc. doesn’t do anything.

    Could you please make a video on 'How to implement the things which you have studied in practical work '? I mean How can someone learn practical work while studying except internships? How to be prepared to face real life working scenarios?

      Unfortunately I don't think that academic knowledge always carries over to real life work. Job experience is king for this!

    Hi AJ, so is there a video for every chapter in the Wiley books? Should you read the chapter first and then watch the video?

      Yes there is. I read some chapters and watched videos for other chapters.

    Hi AJ I hope you are doing good. Automation is something that is effecting finance sector now. Do you think automation is a concern for a person who is a cfa charter holder in the near future as in can algorithm or automation replace cfa's job?

    • @straighttalks-ajsrmek323
      @straighttalks-ajsrmek323  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It depends on the job. Some jobs will be replaced, yes. I tend to think the service industry cannot be replaced by AI.

    Thanks for the videos. I'm thinking of writing CFA level 1 in June 2021. Should I buy the 2020 Wiley material for 2020 just for practice? I'm a bit hesitant because the curriculum is usually reviewed annually.

    • @straighttalks-ajsrmek323
      @straighttalks-ajsrmek323  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would not recommend it, but if you want to start really early and you have extra money to spend on Wiley books, then it certainly won't hurt to get more studying in.

    -curate important material from wiley and CFA book to make review notes. Compile formulas
    -avoid the derivation, avoid formulas that were not used very often
    -method: question -> answer -> review wiley's explanation
