I think probably Edmonton, because they have a wicked power play! And also their ability’s on an odd man rush is amazing, their one downfall is mike smith who seems to play the puck way to much. This is coming from a flames fan keep that in mind, not saying I want them to win but I think they will. The other team I’m picking is Nashville, the reason being is they had an awesome playoff run a little while back and they weren’t playing that much better than they are right now! That’s my opinion.
Also also PK Subban is kinda like James Neal. Neal did very well in Vegas, and for a while in Edmonton. When he was in Calgary, he didnt really try. Subban is like that but does good on Montreal and Nashville, but not New Jersey
St. Louis Blues. After a 50 year drought they will do the impossible and go back to back. They have the goaltending with Binnington (Whom will be well rested goin into the playoffs thanks to a top tier back up in Allen.) They roll all 4 lines and will have depth talent such as Kyrou, Mikkola, and Brouwer as healthy scratches should any issues arrive. Not to mention the possibility of Tarasenko being ready around playoff time. Aside from them having bad luck I find it hard to pick any team over them considering they have only lost 10 in regulation in their last 48.
If I had to choose I’d go for the canes so underrated but did good last year and no one expected them to go that far so that’s why I choose the hurricanes
If Winnipeg turns their season around, they have a decent shot. With an offense like that, you gotta get some where. I also think the panthers have a small chance if Tampa (or any other team in the Atlantic) does the same thing that they did last year.
I have a video idea for you based on the "No worst player response." Are depth players like Martin Marincin that are good enough to plug holes from injuries but not get claimed off waivers the unsung heroes of the NHL? Being teams spare tire when the worst happens and are they're contributions under rated?
The Blues are going to win for a second year in a row. They are far and away the best team in that division. At this time they are leading the Central division by 10 points. They’ve only lost 10 of 48 games and I don’t think that there is anyone who can beat them in the playoffs.
Vancouver I know my odds of getting this right are small based off of the over all past and experience of this team I only am picking the Canucks because I cheer for them and I don’t want to be negative so even though I think they only have about a sixty percent chance of making the playoffs at this point the other teams in the Pacific division don’t nessacerally scare me. So if they were to make the playoffs Markstrom and Pettersson could very well pull a surprise and potentially have the Canucks win a series or two plus it would be a good underdog story in the playoff s
my midseason pick for the Stanley Cup is the Calgary Flames, ending Canada’s 27 year Cup drought. I was originally going to go with Vegas, but the firing of Gerard Gallant for Peter DeBoer and their recent struggles in net has made me choose Calgary instead. the Flames have been a hot team lately, firing on all cylinders and showing how talented they really are. Rittich and Talbot have both been really good this season and make a fierce goaltending tandem. the top six forward core (Gaudreau, Monahan, Tkachuk, Lindholm, etc) has meshed well with the bottom six, in which has lead to players like Mangiapane, Dubé, Bennett, and evening Lucic (albeit only rarely in the case of Lucic) and everyone has more experience, making it more likely for them to pull out a deep playoff run this season. the only thing that concerns me is their defense, but Giordano has been incredible and the rest of the main four (Brodie, Hanifin, Andersson) have improved tremendously. all of these factors have made the Flames a strong dark horse candidate and I fully believe they’ll end Canada’s drought this season
In terms of just player production, I would go with Dylan McIlrath. The Rangers overlooked future all stars such as Kuznetsov, and Taresanko to draft McIlrath 10th overall back in 2010 (Big mistake there). After that, he barely played for them at all, constantly being scratched, and when he did make it to their defensive pairings, all he really did was play enforcer and spent large periods of every game in the penalty box for fighting. He never racked up many points and since the Rangers put him on the waivers, he's just kinda bounced around from one team to another still not producing much.
I would like to see the Coyotes win the cup since they are my favorite team but heir goal scoring needs some help but Hall has been contributing. But my pick would be the Avalanche, they have such a good forward group and with Makar as a D-man they have been pretty solid
Dallas Stars, they have the best goalies and defense in the league, and I belive that they will start scoring more and more goals as we get closer to the playoffs. I think they have all the weapons to win.
this may be biased, but I think the penguins have a good shot at winning. They have that same hunger they did a couple years ago and mike sullivan has been a great coach. Especially with all the injuries they still found ways to win, showing off their depth. Although I’ve noticed once Crosby came back they kinda got a little too comfortable and I don’t see the same passion they had before he came back. Hopefully during the break they can get their injured players back in and look for that passion again because the penguins are a very resilient team.
I also think that younger Sidney Crosby was a terrible player. Sure he scored the winning goal for canada to get gold in 2010, but he used to constantly try to get other players penalties by doing cry baby soccer moves
Tampa Bay. I still believe they have one of the best if not the best roster in the league. They’ve been fairly healthy. The most important thing is they haven’t had a free ride like last year, they’ve been in some tough stretches, they had some bad losses but, they’ve rebounded and are working their way back up the standings. I feel like it was almost too easy for them last year and when they faced some adversity in the playoffs they didn’t know how to respond, that’s simply not the case this year. They are also going to come out swinging because of how last year ended. I see them at the very least making a deep run and wouldn’t surprise me if they won.
It would not surprise me if it were Tampa who won the Cup. They seem to be getting hot at the right time, and have a chip on their shoulder from the embarrassment of last year's sweep. They also have without a doubt the most talented roster in the entire league, and it is only a matter of time before they really start clicking. Despite their recent 10-game winning streak, I still think they could play better and have the potential to be unstoppable when firing on all cylinders.
My pick for the cup around mid September right before pre season I had VGK over BOS In 4. A clean sweep. They have been on and off since then, but since the internet got shocked with Gallant being fired and the new HC coming in I will say Vegas still. Vegas looked so alive last game (at time of writing this) so I will still say Vegas. Vegas will win the 2020 Stanley Cup
I think the lightnings will win the SC just because they are so solid overall. But if I had to go with an “underdog” I’d say Vegas because as long as fleury gets back to his magic and they play consistent, they can be scary
I think the lightning will finally take home the cup. They were so frustrated last year and I think Stamkos will do anything it takes for him to finally hold the Stanley Cup. They haven’t been as good this year compared to last year so I thing they are saving their energy and are going to light it up this playoffs. They can be a crazy team but only when they really want to be.
I believe the Stanley cup finals are gonna be Tampa bay vs Colorado with Tampa bay finally getting another cup. In previous years Tampa faced little adversity (if any), but this year they’re actually facing some. But if Tampa decides to lose it’s gonna be in the first or second round
I think Avalanche for one they have great talent in offence like MacKinnon and they have young guys that can step up so I think Avalanche will win the Cup.
The team I believe go on to win Lord Stanley's Mug, is the New York Islanders why you may ask well under the coaching of Berry Trotz he get his team to play a good defensive game. I know most of their games are boring to watch but they play defensive style that can win a Stanley Cup.
Me being biased would say Winnipeg they’re one of two of my favourite teams but if I had to pick realistically I would choose Washington they look like they’re on a mission to win again especially ovi
I think that the Tampa Bay Lighting will win the cup this year because of the motivation they will have after all of the playoff disappointments they have had. They stuck with the same core who have been in those losses and are a very deep group with talent on all four lines, it will finally be time for Stamkos to lift the cup!
The Stanley Cup winner is tough to predict because "upset" happens a lot nowdays... Just look at last year's first round, every first place of division lost. Therefore, i'm gonna go with the Tampa Bay Lightning... Yes, they had a poor beginning of the season's (first 30 match) way under the expectation... But since then, they play better. Maybe, the very bad playoff performance (Columbus played way better) and the tough first quater of the season was the wake-up call they needed. To me, they have too much of a good team to disappoint again. Again, they are a lot of good team (Washington, Boston, St-Louis, Pittsburgh, Colorado, Etc) My prediction : Tampa Bay
Stars have excellent goaltender tandem and skillfull and physical defence. Their forward core is pretty deep and skilled. They have awesome leadership also. Thats why I think that they will be champpions in 2020.
In my opinion, it is very difficult to pick which team will win the Stanley Cup as a result of what happened last year with St. Louis Blues and Tampa Bay Lightning. However if I were to choose a team to win the 2020 Stanley Cup, I would pick Boston Bruins. The Bruins have a very “strengthy” first line of forwards, especially David Pasternak who is racking up points this season like a beast and I don’t think he’ll stop in the playoffs either. As a big Canucks fan, I would feel extremely disappointed if they did in fact win the Stanley Cup.
I think that the Arizona coyotes are going to win the stanley cup, because they are playing really good hockey this season and because they went all in picking up guys like taylor hall and phil kessel, also Raanta and kuemper make a great 1-2 punch at goalie
I have a good feeling about the islanders based off of standings and how the played in the post season last year I feel like they've gotten alot better and will have a strong run
I believe that the Calgary Flames will win the Stanley Cup. I know it’s a long shot, but they have been so good this year and I feel like that they are going to be the first Canadian team to win the Stanley Cup since the 93 Canadians.
From a neutral perspective (as a Brit), the Capitals are my pick for the Stanley cup this year. The caps seems to have the best overall package this year, although not much has really changed. They are the league leaders, although that doesn't count for much in the playoffs, but there's something about them this year which stands out for me to think they're better than their Stanley Cup winning squad in 17/18.
I have the islanders this year barry trotz is not only my favorite coach but is the best coach in the league imo but hes not the only reason why im picking them this year this team has such a great vibe coming from them on the ice there is some great chemistry with this team and i really think they will be the ones to take it this year
The NY Islanders. Yes, they've been inconsistent as of late but every team goes through a stretch like that. I have faith in Barry Trotz that he will get this team a stanley cup win and shock the league
I think the smart pick is the Tampa Bay Lightning. This year they have kind of been down and now are starting to get hot. Even if they don’t get a higher seed, we all know from last year that it doesn’t matter. Start a series on the road and work their way back to the Stanley cup finals. Too many good players on that team to miss out again.
I think the Capitals are going to win the Stanley Cup because they have been so consistent this year and there has been no regression by their top guys but also players like Vrana have stepped up for a bigger role which shows how much depth they have. PS Carlson for the Norris!
St. Louis. They have no holes in the line up and are a complete team. Lot of talent, lot of depth. And a lot of heart. And they are playing the way they are playing even without tarasanko
Tampa Bay Lighting. I think they are heating up at the right time and will have a great playoff run. They have the depth to do it and goaltending and I think they will finally a deep and successful playoff run this season.
I really find the Colorado avalanche to be a really scary team that is gonna go deep in the playoffs. They took down calgary and almost San jose so I think they will go deep. Also their defence is great and with maybe a big deadline player, they could be awesome in the playoffs. Lastly Grubauer is a great goalie and their forward group is insane. Avs for the cup is my guess because it's hockey. Just pick a team and hope they win the cup lol.
I am going to say that the islanders will win the stanley cup. my reasons are simple: defense and coaching. As of now, the islanders have the 2nd best GA. Defense wins championships. And then there's Barry Trotz. He guided the caps to a stanley cup, went to the isles (who havent made the playoffs in a couple years) and brought them to the playoffs in the first year, and swept the pens in the first round. they came up short last year, but i think they can win the cup this year.
My Philadelphia Flyers, of course! For real answer though, I say the Washington Capitals. I feel that they were very disappointed at how last season ended and have a need to prove everyone that they can and will win the Stanley Cup again and that 2018 wasn't just an anomaly. I feel that they are the only team that's gonna give Tampa a hard time in the playoffs. Plus the champs came from west last season, so this year it's east.
I do not know which team is winning the cup but I know that Vegas is losing in the stanley cup finals. This is because of Peter Deboer. He went to the finals in his first year in New Jersey and lost. Then he did the same in San Jose so Vegas is next.
I think that the Colorado Avalanche will win the cup because they look unbeatable but I really want to see the Arizona Coyotes play the Florida Panthers in the SCF this year because both of those teams were in meme territory a couple years ago
The boston bruins will win the stanley cup this year, theyve been playing some unbelievable hockey, pastrnak has been unreal, both of their goalies have been playing fairly well, they are a deep team with some great d men, and not to mention they will have a chip on their shoulder from last year.
The New York Islanders because they have a top 3 difensive in the league. If they can acquire a sniper at the deadline ti play with Mat Barzal they will also have a deadly offense. With Barry Trotz as there coach I think they will have enough experience to go all the way.
I think the Arizona Coyotes have a great chance at winning. They are playing a whole lot better than they were at the midway point last year as of Jan 17 they are 1st in the Pacific it’s been a while since you can say Arizona and 1st in the division in the same sentence
I think that Edmonton has the potential if there first line stays healthy and they get consistent defense and goalies. If not I say that the Coyotes will suprise everyone and go on a run.
Honestly I think the caps are going to win the cup this year. I believe it’s going to be holtbys last year in Washington and there going to be even better they already have been. Plus ovi is a man on mission this year and I believe he’s going to be even better than he already has been this season.
If anyone watches VGK this year, it would be easy to see that Nate Schmidt is by far the worst defenseman in the league now. He’s scored several hat tricks for the opponent giving up at least three goals while on the ice. He’s out of position so often, can’t clear anyone from in front of the goal and turns the puck over in the defensive zone as often as 10 times a game. He often plays like a bad AHL blue liner and really shouldn’t be in the NHL. This could be as a result of the knee injury in Game 1, but if that’s the case he needs to be sent to the Chicago Wolves on a long term rehab assignment. His level of play (from someone who actually played the game) does not warrant a roster spot with any NHL club.
I’m from St. Louis so I want to go with the Blues and that’s who I am going with. I love my boys and I think they can repeat but if not then I think it will be Florida, if they can get consistency with goaltending then they can get a cup.
The NHL having the best players in the world top to bottom is not true , don't forget that Ilya Kovalchuk and Radulov chose to play in the Kontinental league in Russia for a part of their careers , they were better than many NHLers .
The leafs are gonna win the cup this year, since Keefe came in they've been able to play a style the team was built for and with a move to bring in a solid d-man at the deadline to add some depth to there shocking defence they would have a chance to get past the first round and from there I think they would have enough confidence to take it all the way........as long as Andersen is in net
I think Colorado will win the Stanley Cup. They have lots of depth, they are getting really good goaltending. And they also got some more experience last year by getting to a game 7 or round 2.
Right now I'm gonna say that the Colorado Avalanche will win the Stanley Cup. I just think that their offensive weapons like MacKinnon and Rantanen could just turn it to another level come April and with defenseman like makar and girard they could end up going all the way. The one thing I am a little skeptical about Colorado though is their goaltending.
I'm stuck between Tampa and Boston winnng the cup. I know this is probably the easy choice but I believe both teams are mad after last year. With the lighting going out after round 1 (as we all know) and Boston loosing the cup to a team that was last mid way through the season. If I had to chose one I would chose Boston. They seem so overpowered right now. I know Tampa is on a tear but I see them slowing down by the playoffs. I do hope we get a Boston vs. Tampa series though. But yeah, I'm chosing Boston.
I think the bruins will be as strong as they were last year but this time they won’t reproduce last year’s mistakes, I don’t think the blues will make it there again, I feel like the avs or hopefully the knights can make it up there but Marchand and pasta will run over the east
I'd say Washington has a good shot at winning the cup again. They just have too much superstar talent and seem to be steamrolling their way through the season. The only team that ever trips them up are my boys, the Columbus blue jackets. I'd also like to see the Jackets make a run, but this patchwork lineup can only last so long.
Dan Hamhius. Dude is horrible in every way. No skill, no IQ, just does stupid stuff all the time. I can especially remember this season, Preds at home vs Golden Knights, we’re up 3-2, 5 seconds left. Knights net empty. Hamhius has puck and nobody around him. All he has to do is clear, worst case scenario he misses and icing with a second left. Instead, he pins puck against wall, turns it over, Knights score at buzzer, then we lose in OT. That sequence sums up Hamhius
I think the lightning will win because they were chilling all season last year and were definitely not ready for the playoffs and this year they struggled at the start went on a 10 game winning streak and is in the top 3 in the Atlantic. I also think if they make it to the playoffs they show that the sweep the year before was a lesson and this year they will learn from it. Also st Luis is a good contender as well because they are having a incredible year.
I think Pittsburgh will win the Stanley cup. They have been playing incredible hockey over the last few weeks. Crosby is back healthy and they have 2 solid goalies to carry them through the playoffs.
I would have to go with the blues , caps or flames im thinking of the blues beciase they are playing so well and i think they will get back tk back with the caps i think maby them to because the are also doing very well and the have the talent to be able to do something like that for them again. The flames i think maby becase they might pull off a blue becaise they stared the season off doing so bad not in a playoff spot and right now while im Wrighting this they are tied for 1st in there divison and they have lots of young guys who may be able to pull it off and they also have the goal tending too to bring at least as far to the wcf
I think Boston will win the Stanley cup. I’m not a fan of theirs but I think when you get to the cup finals and lose there is a fire in your belly, also they have gone through some adversity recently, which I believe is important to face challenges and get through them in the season ahead of the playoffs. (e.g. Tampa had no troubles last year and got swept) in addition to this I just think Boston are built for the playoffs and will take it this year.
I think the avalanche will win the cup this season. They have had terrible injury luck especially loosing rantanen and at one point grubauer but they are still in a comfortable playoff spot and now with a full line up they are going to be scary. Although they aren’t the most defensively strong team they have makar and with their offence being so strong I think they have a very good chance
I would love the Bruins to win the cup this year, since I’m a huge fan, but if I’m being honest the Penguins are gonna win it. Without Crosby and some other guys they did fantastic, and now with Crosby back they’re looking superior. But you never know with the hockey gods 🤷♂️
You know as much as I hate Boston it would not surprise me if they do. Boston is PISSED OFF about losing to St Louis at home last year which is a GREAT motivator. So it would not surprise me if they go all the way this year.
Hmm, I do not agree with that every NHL player is better than those who has'nt made it to the league yet. I just believe that its easier for a GM to put an american or a canadian player in the 3rd/4th line instead a swede, finnish och russian player. But you could probably find many players in europe who has more talent than they do.
i think that Carolina will win because i think their pissed about last year getting swept as im typing this their in the last wild card spot in the east so they may not get in but they have a strong and loyal fan base who want redemption and their players are almost all in tact who want want redemption and if they can get to the conference final theirs no reason why they cant go all the way
I would go with an east team I'd say Toronto Pittsburgh or Tampa I could honestly see either of these three teams winning it ranked in order I would say 1 Pittsburgh 2 Toronto 3 Tampa because although Toronto has been losing recently they have been scoring at 4 goals if not more per game since keefe joined and Tampa has played mediocre but again its Tampa and Pittsburgh because theyve shown they can win no matter what the situation
Obviously, the Tampa Bay Lightning are going to win the cup. Just like the 96-97 Red Wings, the Lightning will rebound from a colossal failure in the playoffs to bringing the Stanley Cup back to Tampa Bay!
@@davidfitzpatrick4254One lucky goal doesn't change the fact that he is still considered a goon. The only thing most people that saw him play remember, is his fights. (Especially his fights with Bob Probert.)
Ok bud...Sundqvist is the best player on the Blues, he works his ass off and definitely isn’t a dirty player. It’s obvious that you don’t watch the Blues because he will get crunched and won’t retaliate one bit. Like Mika Zibanejad said “hard workers are better than the point getters.”
I think the Pittsburgh Penguins are going to win the cup. I say that because of all The injuries they have overcome. They had the same problem in 2016 and they still won the cup. Though I think the Penguins will win I want an under dog team. That has never won the cup like the Columbus blue jackets I want them to win
I think probably Edmonton, because they have a wicked power play! And also their ability’s on an odd man rush is amazing, their one downfall is mike smith who seems to play the puck way to much. I'm surprised at some of the twitter replies. Seems like people were choosing the players they dislike the most, as opposed to answering the question.
The guys picking good players they didn’t like are huge pussies.
Also also PK Subban is kinda like James Neal. Neal did very well in Vegas, and for a while in Edmonton. When he was in Calgary, he didnt really try. Subban is like that but does good on Montreal and Nashville, but not New Jersey
Subban is a cancer in the locker room, that's what I've heard from Montreal and Nashville.
Edit: Oh someone already said that in the video.

Penguins feel like a good pick with how well they have dealt with injury.

Detroit to do a St Louis and go from last to winning it all. LGRW!
I would say “The San Jose Sharks” - Kevin LaBanc has good sportsmanship
I also think that younger Sidney Crosby was a terrible player. Sure he scored the winning goal for canada to get gold in 2010, but he used to constantly try to get other players penalties by doing cry baby soccer moves

Again, they are a lot of good team (Washington, Boston, St-Louis, Pittsburgh, Colorado, Etc)
My prediction : Tampa Bay
This is my answer to the question for next week.
I think Jimmy Howard is the laziest, slowest goalie this season. Did anyone else see how slow he was when detroit lost 2-8 againsted the islanders
I think the penguins will win the cup because they had the most points while their best player was out
The boston bruins will win the stanley cup this year, theyve been playing some unbelievable hockey, pastrnak has been unreal, both of their goalies have been playing fairly well, they are a deep team with some great d men, and not to mention they will have a chip on their shoulder from last year.
I would say Loui Eriksson. I was also thinking about Lucic, his contract is garbage but at least he can fight.
Hopefully Colorado, but my gut says that Crosby and the Penguins have another one in the tank for this year
I think Colorado will win the Stanley Cup. They have lots of depth, they are getting really good goaltending. And they also got some more experience last year by getting to a game 7 or round 2.
Florida Panthers thier such an underrated team if bob cat gets his game together Florida even in a wildcard spot can do some damage
This was a good video but was too opinionated, and most ppl picked the players for the wrong reasons, not bc of their skill
I think it will be the Washington Capitals. I don't know why but it's a gut feeling. Ovechkin is on a role
I was so hoping for sum1 to say eakin!
Hmm, I do not agree with that every NHL player is better than those who has'nt made it to the league yet. I just believe that its easier for a GM to put an american or a canadian player in the 3rd/4th line instead a swede, finnish och russian player. But you could probably find many players in europe who has more talent than they do.
i think that Carolina will win because i think their pissed about last year getting swept as im typing this their in the last wild card spot in the east so they may not get in but they have a strong and loyal fan base who want redemption and their players are almost all in tact who want want redemption and if they can get to the conference final theirs no reason why they cant go all the way
I would go with an east team I'd say Toronto Pittsburgh or Tampa I could honestly see either of these three teams winning it ranked in order I would say 1 Pittsburgh 2 Toronto 3 Tampa because although Toronto has been losing recently they have been scoring at 4 goals if not more per game since keefe joined and Tampa has played mediocre but again its Tampa and Pittsburgh because theyve shown they can win no matter what the situation
dallas stars, no real reason why but it would be cool to see them win
Obviously, the Tampa Bay Lightning are going to win the cup. Just like the 96-97 Red Wings, the Lightning will rebound from a colossal failure in the playoffs to bringing the Stanley Cup back to Tampa Bay!
The guy we know about the least
Please let it be a Canadian team to pick up the Cup. It has been way too long.
For me it's Louis Erikkson
TIE DOMI WAS NOT A GOON! HE COULD SCORE AS WELL!
1020 NHL games and only 104 goals, 141 assists, 245 points, with a whopping 3515 PIMs...Yeah he was a goon.
@@johnleak2756 True But he also Scored tje winning goal against Ottawa in 02
@@davidfitzpatrick4254One lucky goal doesn't change the fact that he is still considered a goon. The only thing most people that saw him play remember, is his fights. (Especially his fights with Bob Probert.)
Philadelphia Flyers will win the Stanley Cup not just for the city or the team but for Oskar Lindblom. #OskarStrong
Could you please do ECHL mascots
How was zac rinaldo not in this video
Charlie Lindgren
new york rangers winning the cup they are heating up
i think the leafs because why not.
My opinion I think the penguins will win but I hope the Edmonton Oilers win!!!!
Kevin Rooney
Not toronto 😂😂
Dallas Stars are going to win the Stanley Cup. Because they're green.
