I'm always a big fan of the classic bikes and the Bonneville T120 is my dream bike . Love its design, the power and high torque and it's fun bike to ride.
After 6 years and 138,000 Km on my 2017 T100 I decided to go for the 2021 T120. You'll see lots of fellows trying to give over complex reviews of these two options but here's how it is: The T100 is a superb bike, the T120 is a step up. That's it. The bigger bike has delicious extra power delivery, superb Brembo front brakes and superior lighting. I like the retro carburetter look of the injection covers and the polished fins on the whole cylinder. Both bikes will suit all purposes, one has a bit extra. If you can afford it , get it. Oh and please if you want an all black druid bike pick something else! It breaks my heart to see Edward Turners classic design dumbed down all black
Very confused between T100 and T120. Liked the competition green color of T100. Do you think i will regret if i go for T100 and think about that extra of T120?
I’ve always yearned for a T120 and this one looks stunning in that colour scheme. Pity about the big scratch on the tank (visible at 6:04) and centre stand now an optional extra! Come on Triumph; was that a way to save weight or squeeze more money from your customers? And why not LEDs all round in 2021?
@@HometownZero the grab rail (with mounting kit), center stand and heated grips are $918 . So subtracts the$390 from the cruise control kit like @HometownZero Mentioned and they still gutted $528 of accessories.
Not really. What matters is the type of weight and distribution of weight. As in alloy on the wheels and will make cornering easier. And the motor crank system and alloys used in the motor. Pillion grab rail is at the rear. My main gripe with the T120 is it feels front heavy. I have a 2019 T120. I shall trade mine in next year for this one.
Expected much more concerning the T120. More HP from the 1200cc. Not only tiny weight reduction. Missing the chrome rails for the backseater. Looks like T100 now. No more central stand, no more heated grips. 👎 Glad I can completely relaxed keep my 2020 T120.
Agree. I've also got a 2020 T120 and was very curious what Triumph had in store... As my bike is my main (only really) hobby I would have considered trading "up" to a 2021 but I don't see a compelling reason; The rims are still tubed and power is the same (mine is "decated" + British Customs pipes=more power). It would have been so easy for them to use the Scrambler or Thruxton engine - that might've made things interesting.
Looks like after 30 years Triumph Hinkley is officially using the old Triumph logo (from the '40s and before way up to the '70s) ... I think it looks better than the Hinkley one but I'm surprised to see it on factory custom tanks and also on these presenters t-shirts...did they recently pay out for the rights and are they dumping the Hinkley one altogether?
Lovely machine but little difference in style from my 1972 Honda CB450 K5, yes the Triumph wins in every way but does one want a classic bike or a classic lookalike?
Yes, the reason is that the 900cc engine used in the Street Twin belongs on the T-100. This is the more powerful T-120, which has the 1200cc motor also found on the Speed Twin.
For an Official Triumph Motorcycles presentation, it was nice to see that the narrator wore his best ten-year old tee shirt. Geez. He could have at least grabbed a new Triumph polo shirt from the gift shop.
These changes are a direct response by Triumph to customer requests. I'll also point out that cruise control is now standard. 👍🏻 Personally - I don't want a center stand. I'd also prefer heated grips as standard over cruise control, but it's an easy option to add.
80 nm from 900 ccs. 105 nm from 1200 ccs. How is that high torque engine? It should be called low lowdown torque engine. It looks nice as always. If you buy it dont believe that euro 5 bullshit and keep the oil for 10k miles. Euro 5 wont fix your bike when the warranty ends. These bikes are overpriced for made in taiwan
This bonneville is utterly rubbish. So they remove 3 essentials and standard equipment such as the heated grips, grab rails and the center stand to give us cruise control? Also, they HT engine is 77.4 @ 3500 rpm with 79HP, meanwhile the 2016-and up is 77.4 lb @3100 rpm @80 hp. Seems like an overall downgrade to me.
@@scottroberts4551 The largest motorcycle factory in the world is in Berlin - manufacturing BMWs. People do not mind paying a premium for premium products. Triumph was such a brand - now it's just another Asian manufacturer - but charging premium prices. When the world realises Triumph have abandoned UK manufacturing, the customers will disappear and the debt raised to build the Thai factories will sink them - good.
Its not a upgrade ...Sorry to say but degrading the steel rims to aluminium rims will be a pain in the right place for the buyers ... steel rims are more durable and shock absorbent than this upcoming rigid metal which will fail to absorb the shock which may lead to a crack or even break the rim during a sudden encounter with a pot hole .. so beware and go slow with your 2021 T120 and also watch the potholes .. Iam a gr8 fan of the Bonni series especially tue T120 but this so called upgrade pissed me off..😡
Greatings 🙋♂️
I'm always a big fan of the classic bikes and the Bonneville T120 is my dream bike . Love its design, the power and high torque and it's fun bike to ride.
Me too
Cruise control and alloy rims are standard equipment for 2021, but gone are the center stand, rear grab bar, heated grips, and chromed valve cover.

Keeping my T120 Bonneville Ace forever ♣️
Okay, you've convinced me. I'm going to drop by the local dealer next week and ride a few motorcycles.
Brilliant bike and a brilliant informative very well presented video , thanks
I Really Really Fall In Love With Beautiful Bonneville 👌
Did the majority of the weight saving come from the fact it no longer comes with a center stand and pillion grab rail has standard?
If your implication is that they're doing it for cost savings, the Cruise Control unit ain't cheap and it's now standard.
@@HometownZero true, but the heated grips are now gone as well.

No centre stand, grab rail and heated grips but they do contribute to the weight saving. Gotta love the marketing guys!

great bike. love classics
Tubless wire wheels for T120? Or maybe an option?
i these are tubeless, triumph offers tubeless spoke wheels in tiger adv 1200 and scrambler 1200 then this might be also tubeless
You guy’s are super stars. Very impressive.
Buy one and keep it forever....❤️

I wish it had My Triumph Connectivity. I wish all of them did. At least as an add-on.
Is the dashboard now more visible under intense light?
Removing the centre stand is a ridiculous way to try and save some weight on a bike with a chain. About as ridiculous as a phone without a charger.
The aluminium wheels are a welcome change.
For sure
