- Join me as I drive an Alpina’ B3 GT3, a car far rarer than BMW's own M3 GTS, being limited to 99 units versus the 150 GTSs produced. It has track-tuned adjustable suspension and has been produced to link to the B6 GT3 that won the German GT series but was in actual fact half the price of BMW’s mighty M3 GTS.

Another well put together informative review.
I've always been curious about where the Alpina sits compared to BMW's own hit versions and wondered who they are intended to be for.
At half the price of an M3 it's certainly a lot of car and exclusivity will make it a far more interesting car to discuss at a local cars and coffee meet.
Thanks Mark, Alpinas seem to have to go just a few steps further to producing a final ‘product’ the factory couldn’t (or wouldn’t) within the limits of mass production. They’re certainly rare!

Love my 2010 d3 biturbo, the handling and brakes are perfect, and alot better than the standard Bmws
Went to a BMW national meet at Gaydon and got talking to a chap who owned an Alpina. He used a specialist for servicing. I think they are a different ownership proposition to your run of the mill BMW. There is a price to pay for exclusivity. I can't recall seeing an Alpina of any variant outside of a car show. Love the fact Alpina exists but don't think I have the lifestyle where I would benefit from owning one. Looks like that one could be quite a handful on a leafy road Simon !. Thinking of px'ing the Mercedes?😁
They are truly special cars built in tiny numbers with a number of subtle differences over the standard car. Alpina was independent of BMW until recently when they were taken over. At an estimated £90k this 1/99 example will require a winning set of lottery numbers… or a lot of forgiveness from Mrs Lot76 cars🤣
