Coding will, for sure become very irrelevant from now. But the whole field of CS and IT will only boom but evolve rapidly at the same time. New "hot skills" will become favorable and people with strong aptitute, research skills, creativity, and interdisciplinary knowledge will survive and excel.

When u say AI is hot field, it is but only for phd and masters holder from top uni. These people write core algorithms. Entry level job does not exist in this field and the math that is required is too tough. + AI is used for niche features in any app or website so hiring thousands of Ppl AI roles makes no sense.

You should choose Electrical Engineering. It's mother of Electronics and Communication Engineering & Computer Science Engineering. And you can choose Electrical Engineering as optional (500 marks in UPSC CSE Mains) for your UPSC preparation also.

All companies will seek for talents who can develop custom AI softwares on top of existing tools. Who will develop then? Of course Developers. And btw we all know where India is right now in terms of digital growth. It will require huge amounts of developers to match the level. Just be patient and keep hustling. Even if you do some other job don’t quit it. For this, you can mark my word 💪
