Hey mate, bloody fantastic information! We have a 2007 model "AH" which is the Aussie version & it was only available here with the 2.2L motor. I have also viewed your one on the boot catch & once again very informative, as I have an intermittent problem of the catch remaining open when the initial boot tilt back occurs, this stops further action and the boot floats around until I activate close again. It all seems to lock again and I can then open the boot as normal. Anyway, I will now have a crack at the micro switches & make sure there are no loose bits or whatever. Thanks again & please leave the videos on line.
I managed to get the lid all the way open electrically but couldn't close it. Your video really helped enormously as I was able to lever the boot latch element open so that the tines reconnected and now the roof opens and closes properly
Hi, I've a 2007 twintop & I have a similar problem. roof works fine going down, but putting the roof up it seems to work but no beep at the end & windows don't close automatically. then the boot only opens about an inch & the beep for it not being closed starts at over 20mph for about a minuet. I've had it hocked up to a friends tester & it says boot switch isn't working? Though it's fine with the roof down, any ideas? Thanks
thank you very much I just followed the steps and I have managed to close the entire roof and also that the trunk works and there is no sign of open roof from 30 km / h you have to regulate the tops of the trunk because from 140kmh it indicates an open door or if you pass a pothole Muchas gracias from Barcelona, Spain
How do move the parcel shelf flaps to get the boot lid to close coz black flaps are out so I can't put the boot in the rite place under the rear window
Thanks again going to get started on repairs on my REC this weekend so very useful! The videos are much appreciated and happy to see more so keep up the good work!
Hi... Just seen your video about the boot lid not opening and the constant beeping when driving i am having the same problem i know absolutely nothing about cars/mechanics! I'm wondering if I can contact you through email 📧 because I have no idea what to do..
Hi if your car is beeping while driving then it will be that your roof. probably your rams in the boot (the ones that tilt your boot lid back when opening and closing your roof are not in fully closed position, (you need to lift them closed both sides) your roof locking to window frame not fully closed (ie screwdriver push laches fully forward) or your boot lock not fully rotated where your boot locks in normal roof up or down, I show these in manually closing roof and the boot video
Hello mat, I had this issue with the boot and your video helped me to open it but than it would not close back again. It got sorted by taking the closing mechanism off and by shortening of the cable by the actuator. It was ok for a couple month but now it happened again. Do you know why would this happen and if there is a fuse for this switch? This time I will try to get it open with opcom and not force it open as I am worried the cable will get streched again. Any suggestion would be great and thanks for the upload!
Hi. Your videos are incredibly useful and easy to follow. I have a slight problem and I’m sure you have a solution. When I close the roof, the boot latch only half engages. This means it does not shut fully but also does not open (it’s in a semi locked state) Can you please help? I can send a video if it’s easier. Thanks 🙏
If the boot isn't opening because of the ecu telling it not to open, pull fuse 16 in the engine compartment, open the boot and replace fuse 16 before driving as it is connected to other circuits that need power
So my boot lock is swinging arround freely and the locking thing is closed thats why I can't close trunk completely is there another way to open and closing the locking rather than force it open? 6:49
I would say get the latest version as it will also cover the newest cars, There are loads of opcom clones on the market, so it’s hard to say, this is also one of the reasons I used maxi ecu, wish I could be of more help
Hi mate brilliant video. I've got the same problem but it also won't shut! If it does I have to do it the manual way😢 I don't have the computer though so is it possible just by looking at the switches and locking positions? Cheers Paul
Hey m8 gr8 video! Able to close the boot again after we accidentally opened the boot up just one second too early whilst the roof was in the closing process. Unfortunately we cant get the boot to open without ur killer technique. No beeping occurring but boot still locked. Seems like it should be an easy fix, any suggestions? cheers
Hello I have been watching your videos on the Twintop which are very informative. I have a recent problem that is baffling me. The roof operates pefectly opening and closing and I also changed the Gears to brass ones a few years ago. My recent problem is when the roof is open and I want to access the boot using the red button at the back of the boot it all opens fine but then the window and roof panels that have lifted to allow access to the boot slowly closes downwards. I think is is a hydraulic problem but have no idea how to fix this problem Hopefully you can point me in the right direction. It is not stopping normal roof use but just making access to boot akward if roof is open.
I wouldn’t call myself a Vauxhall roof expert, but I have had experience with hydraulics especially in construction and excavator’s, I take it that you haven’t had to loosen the hex bolt I showed on the pump in the video if so make sure that it’s tighten back up it sounds as if you have oil leaking past a hydraulic ram seal or pump seal allowing pressure to drop
@@RichManPoorMotors Thanks for the reply. I have owned my twin top from new and the Hex bolt has never been opened as far as I know. I do think this may be a hydraulic issue but I cannot locate position of the ram or pump to be able to check it do you know how to access them?
Great vid thanks this has been most useful, I’ll probably need to watch some more to fix it if I even can. I’ll try gain access to the boot firstly to stop that beeping, it’s driving me mad, sadly I have to use the car I don’t have a spare. This all started last night when the roof last worked, I put it back up and I felt and heard a click on the switch as the last function of the roof happened which was around the time the pistons stop and the windows going up, about the time off the beeped. I remember at the time thinking that felt odd. Now today the boot won’t open and if I press the down roof button the windows drop ready for the roof to move, but nothing else happens. If I then press the roof up button the windows drop slightly once then nothing else happens. Could this be a faulty switch? Read some post online saying fault is likely wiring harness in the boot. Also read online once I have boot open if I unplug the roof ecu I believe it’s has 2 plugs a black and a blue, so not sure which or if it’s both I need to be unplugged. Any help muchly appreciated.
Roof beeping and boot not opening is a fault in roof position, check locking rams are closed in roof, pull fuse 15 in engine bay to open boot, and replace fuse as it dose other important circuits, check boot locking actuator is fully closed this will stop beeping, the roof fault is most likely a broken wire in the loom on the left side of boot otherwise a diagnostic is your best place to start
Been looking for a plug and play reader to use as you suggested any you can recommend that don't need a laptop as don't really won't to buy one aswell ?

Even simpler way, remove fuse 16 in the UEC and the boot will then work. But make sure you put the fuse back in once you close the boot because the fuse is used for other things
Hi! i repaired wires on the left but i get trunk lid switches not plausible b130f-5a fault code and roof neither boot are working... roof was stuck open and then closed by powering the roof motor...could you help ?
Not sure what the code number referred to exactly, but my general checks would be (Also have you also watched my video on closing the roof manually,) check all points of contacts are fully closed the roof locks by locking with a screwdriver, check the rams either side are fully up and boot hinges are locked shut, if rams are not fully up this will cause boot issues, check boot latch as shown in this video is fully rotated, and touching micro switch, try isolating the roof from the boot issues by disconnecting the roof motors/ecu plug on the boot lid, dose the boot work then if so it’s a roof fault, check continuity of all wiring and micro switches also is the wiring faults fixed, has that been checked for continuity and also insulation resistant (short circuits) I hope this points you in the right direction
I have boot latch failure, can not open with boot button and with scanner as well. I can hear latch motor working when pressing switch but still can not open. That hole I suppose to put hook in to open from inside not visible because of hard top folded in boot . What can I do I my case?
It might be a broke cable in the catch if so i am not sure how to help, but if its a ecu problem Try fuse 15 in the engine bay remove that a and see if that allows you to open the boot dont drive with fuse removed as it dose other important circuits

hi i have closed the roof manually now boot does not open used the launch it opened but when you close it does not open again but with the launch it opens what can i do to fix this how do i reset the roof to operate normal again please thanks
The boot locking tines where the boot locks are probably not fully closed, you need to rotate them closed so that the microswitch tells the computer it’s closed, I am presuming that the roof is fully locked closed and the rams that operate the roof are fully up if not check those
Hi, Thank you for your video excellent information. I have an AH Twin top however the boot top locking mechanism spring appears to be broken or loose. I have been able to unlock the boot manually however the boot will not close. I feel that the mechanism is stuck in an open position and will not close to lock the boot. Subsequently the roof will no longer open (Has the 3 beeps) and the door alarm will continue to beep when driving over 40km/ph. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Beeping is because roof boot not fully in closed position Pulling Fuse 14 or 15 in fuse box under engine will release boot easier than going though from back seats but make sure you put it back as it dose other systems The roof has sensors all these need to be in correct positio, the roof locks need to be closed both sides into the A pillar, the hydraulic rams need to be fully up left and right that operate the roof, the can be lifted as I think I showed in one of my videos, and the boot catch tines needs to be fully rotated this can also be done manually as well so that the microswitch tells the car it is closed, failing that it is probably a broken wire in the roof boot loom check for continuity, less likely would be a sensor fault but it can happen more likely a broken wire usually in where it flexing with boot mechanism
Still having problems with my boot not opening and the noise in the car when driving... I have had a look at what you said in your reply before but I have no idea what to do I am not mechanically minded at all I had the latch changed last year when it first started happening and from last Xmas to May this year my boot worked fine and now I'm at my witts end with it I don't want to sell the car because mechanically its sound and have no other issues with it all... I've read most of all the comments on here for the help but as I said I have no idea what I'm doing....
If you have beeping it is because of a faulty with the roof not fully closing, it knows this with sensing in the roof latches at front window, these have to be fully closed on both sides, the hydraulic rams in the boot lift hinge mechanism need to be fully up and the boot hinge needs to be locked in again on both sides, and the boot latching pin needs to be fully in it’s closed position so that the boot catch is recorded as closed when driving or a possible wiring fault to any sensors
@@RichManPoorMotors Hi! In the video you mentioned that you would make a follow-up video with sensor readings when closing and opening roof. It would be helpful for troubleshooting and finding the exact problematic sensor. My twintop started giving issues midway on closing or opening sporadically. At the end of summer gave up completely. Flaps and their gears are fine. I believe that it is either any of the sensors or its wiring or even the roof computer it self. I was noticing relays randomly clicking from the roof computer sporadically. May their clicking be normal or caused by other sensor wiring issues? Or is it a sign of the relay fault and I should find new ones to resoled?
Noise may be that roof is not fully closed or that the catch isn’t fully rotated or that the boot isn’t fully closed at the hinge (front of boot lifts on one or both sides) follow this video to check boot, follow roof video to check roof sound should stop if everything is fully closed, if this is the case then it may be electric fault, try disconnecting roof plug in boot to boot flap motors to isolate the boot from roof as to check which is causing problems
@@glupi hi in the video i showed the rotation of the boot lock and the micro switches that monitor this, it has to be fully rotated for the signal to tell the computer it is closed, i also showed the rams that work on the boot hinge, , make sure that they are fully lifted, so that those switches record that the hinge is fully closed also check the hinge is locked (both sides) in position. rams need to be fully up for the computer info@richmanpoor.com
My boot latch isn’t moving so I can’t shut my boot properly? How can I do this manually with basic tools? I need my car in 12hours to go to a family funeral 😢😢
Look at my video where I lifted the rams in closing the room manually to close the hinge both sides, and fully rotate the boot lock catch to the boot lock to close the micro switches as in my boot video
My latch is stuck in the lock position and I cant shut my boot and now can't use my roof until I fix it can anyone help and let me know how I unlock it so i can shut my boot and be able to use my boot and roof again :(
if the boot lock is in the roof opening position, you can manually rotate the latch, but if the roof has a fault then the boot wont work, you need to disconnect the roof wiring pug to the boot roof flaps, in my comments there is comment which tells you what Fues to pull if you need to get into the boot temporary
@@RichManPoorMotors my boot is closed properly but u push the button and it won't open dont know why and when I push the button to open the roof the windows come down a little bit and it stops and the boot wont open its frustrating just wanna fix the boot so I can operate my roof again?
@@RichManPoorMotors the roof is fine and works perfect aswell its just the boot don't no if it is the latch the boots shuts onto that sits on the bottom of boot or the latch that's on the boot that shuts onto the over latch or it could be a fuse or might just need plugging in to a computer to sort it dont know ?

Gendan are the official uk importers/dealers, just google maxiecu
Followed all your instructions closely but still not working any idea mate
You can also remove 5A fuse from fuse panel near accumulator. This will shut down roof computer and deblock trunk lock.
Hi where is this fuse located my boot is semi locked open cannot gain access roof is stuck down really sick 😕
@@davidbradley3927 Fuse box is under the front hood. Near accumulator.

My car boot isn't opening or closing, it's stuck
When I drive car just making a sound to tell that boot is opened
What should I do
Noise may be that roof is not fully closed or that the catch isn’t fully rotated or that the boot isn’t fully closed at the hinge (front of boot lifts on one or both sides) follow this video to check boot, follow roof video to check roof sound should stop if everything is fully closed, if this is the case then it may be electric fault, try disconnecting roof plug in boot to boot flap motors to isolate the boot from roof as to check which is causing problems
@@RichManPoorMotors quite a few people are having this same issue where boot latch is stuck. Can you do a video or can I contact you on email ? 😃
@@glupi hi in the video i showed the rotation of the boot lock and the micro switches that monitor this, it has to be fully rotated for the signal to tell the computer it is closed, i also showed the rams that work on the boot hinge, , make sure that they are fully lifted, so that those switches record that the hinge is fully closed also check the hinge is locked (both sides) in position. rams need to be fully up for the computer

My boot latch isn’t moving so I can’t shut my boot properly? How can I do this manually with basic tools? I need my car in 12hours to go to a family funeral 😢😢
I have same issue. :(
I’ve managed to disconnect the ecu so it doesn’t beep just need to fasten the boot down somehow
Look at my video where I lifted the rams in closing the room manually to close the hinge both sides, and fully rotate the boot lock catch to the boot lock to close the micro switches as in my boot video
I did the best thing EVER………. Sold the dam car, In 2 weeks I lost £400 on it 🤬🤬🤬 wouldn’t ever own a twin top again
Were can I get that ecu dongle that has that software built in please can someone send me a link for rite one please
The one I used www.gendan.co.uk/product_MAXIECUVB.html
Hi
Bloody stupid design from Vauxhall, why didn,t they just have an emergency keylock on the outside.
I agree, at least they didn’t put the fuse for the boot lock in the boot, oh hang on a minute, they did that as well
Worst way u can open boot
