I use this recipe a lot. I don’t think I’ll ever fix cubed steaks any other way. They are so tender you could eat them with a spoon. They flavors in this recipe are so delicious. I love crock pot meals! GREAT RECIPE!
Thanks Marie, we are giving it a try this evening…it looks great. My wife has celiac’s which means no regular flour. I looked for gluten free cream of celery but Walmart doesn’t have and the regular cream of celery has flour, so I I’m trying two cans of gluten free cream of chicken soup instead! All your recipes look so good and since my wife can no longer cook we really appreciate your posts! Continued prayers for Calvin and you🙏🙏
Hey Calvin and Marie!! I am watching some of your video's that I haven't seen today, that cube steak look's so good!! I used to make that but I haven't for a while, but now I want some lol!!! God Bless you both!! 😊💖💖
Thanks very much Lisa. Marie made the cabbage salad today and we loved how it tasted. We will try to have the video ready for Wednesday evening. Have a great week, Calvin and Marie
@@SouthernCountryLiving Ate it about an hour and a half ago and my husband loved it! It was delish and smelled good also like you said when we came in from furniture shopping. Thanks for the recipe. We will make this one again. Happy Easter weekend friends.
Good deal on the meat Marie. I have made this before but it has been a while. It is really good in the crockpot but I didn't fry them before hand. I love cooking in my crockpot. It's cool and overcast the past few days here in Tampa too. I like your Easter decorations. I have mine up too. Your steaks and gravy looks very good. I bet it smelled so good when you got back home.
Thanks very much Debbie. We normally don't fry them first but my aunt said that they are better if you brown them before putting them in the crockpot. We are ready for some nice weather, maybe soon. Have a great week, Marie and Calvin
Cubed steak looks delicious Mrs Marie, bet they was tender being cooked in that crockpot!! Thank ya sharing the recipe mam!! Y'all have a good week!! Dan
Thanks very much Betty. We always get our cube steak from Piggly Wiggly store local to us. They make their cube steak more tender by running it through the machine more. Some stores only run it through the machine one time. When you cook it in the crockpot it will be more tender than frying it. Calvin has dentures and he can eat it very easily. Have a great day, Marie and Calvin
Marie, I 'm so glad you showed us this recipe, have been waiting for a good cube stake dump and go recipe. Looks delicious thank you for sharing. Love your hair! May God bless y'all 🙏
I made this today, I had to cut my cube steak up they were one gigantic piece. I throughly enjoyed them, only thing I would do differently would be instead of flour to thicken I would make a cornstarch slurry, because I had lumps in liquid before I even started, so had to strain, next time I will do the cornstarch slurry. It was so tender, the smaller pieces, broke down to smaller pieces!
Thanks very much Tamara. I'm glad that you enjoyed it. I'm not sure how you got lumps in it. Did you brown the cube steak in a skillet first? That was a good idea to use cornstarch to thicken ty he gravy. To save time and clean up you can also just put the cube steak in the crockpot and skip using flour and browning in a skillet. Have a fantastic week and Happy Easter, Marie and Calvin
Looks absolutely delicious, can't wait to try it,bet it would be good to with pork chops cooked like this to thanks for sharing your wonderful family recipes
That does look a treat Marie. I really like a meal that doesn't have a bunch of bones to contend with. The steak and gravy can be totally used. I try to spend no more than $5 per supper for the meat portion for the 2 of us. It's nice if there's enough left for Elwood's lunch the next day. lol Take Care Friends, Deb
Thanks very much Michele. We got our vaccine yesterday morning and we both are doing good. No side effects at all so far. Have a great week, Calvin and Marie
That cube steak recipe is a keeper. This recipe includes sliced onions and Lipton onion soup that my recipe does not have. It will now! Love the skillet camera. Thanks to Aunt Joan and Marie for expertly demonstrating this recipe.
Marie, you and I are on the same wave length, I used my crockpot this morning to fix a boneless pork roast! Boy! did it turn out great, fell apart. Have enough for lunch tomorrow for sandwich. Hope you and Calvin has a great week. Was beautiful here today 75. Your meal looks great! :)
Thanks very much Jeannette. Yes we love to cook pork in the crockpot. Today I made some bbq ribs in the crockpot. I had a hard time getting them out without them falling apart. We were warm today but cloudy. Have a great week, Marie and Calvin
Wow, I love crock pot meals like this and will be trying this weekend. My mom and dad were from Oklahoma and Arkansas, and I grew up on Southern food even though I was born and still live in California. It’s not easy to find cube steak out here any more, so I will take eye of round steak and use a meat mallet or a Jacard and make my own. I think you and Calvin have a great channel, and thank you for sharing some of the south with us!
Kami, I'm not sure if you wanted me to make liver and onions or if you are asking if it can be cooked that way. Yes, liver and onions would be good cooked in a crockpot. I haven't thought about that but I think cube steak cooked with the liver and onions would be good.
