I love how Eric just kind of goes “Aw shucks, this is just a little thing I do” and then proceeds to play one of the most beautiful chromatic progressions I’ve ever heard. Thanks for the tips Mr. Johnson. It feels like an honor learning your tricks.
If you’re reading this, first time I heard manhattan it changed my life! Legitimately. I’ve listened to and studied your playing ever since. So much appreciation for your contribution to not only guitar but music as a whole.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Eric!! You friggin’ rock!!! I’ve been playing for about 38 years (and boy my fingers are tired! 🤪) and these guitar lessons from you are a dream. Thank you for sharing your amazing gift with us all! Love on! ❤️
As a fellow Austinite Eric is so throwback Austin to me. The specific accent & attitude. When I was in high school I used to see him around Bill Webb’s shop when Bill was perpetually working on my ‘66 Super Reverb. A lot has changed. A lot has stayed the same.
´´Simply like this´´ It´s amazing how internet can propose some awesome lesson like that, a genious passing on his teachings in such a natural way. Great to see how natural Eric is in front of the ´´camera`` and his frasing is absolutly magic. One of the best moments of quarentine.
Wow! This is really going to be great! ROCK N' ROLL Mr. Johnson! Don't stop. Now and forever, I'll keep on listening to you and your music and stuff. As well as the other rock bands out there as The Beatles, you will always be one of the best of all best with the very best music. I'll continue to support you as well as the other rock n' roll guitar players too! God bless you Mr. Johnson. Keep it up! Don't stop rocking!
He probably is, in my opinion, the overall best living guitarist. I don't conclude this lightly. Clearly, he is one of the best of all time. He is a type of Hendrix or Holdsworth as it stands. Amen!!
3:35 learnt this from him years ago in a magazine article when I was studying the SRV solo, still such a cool effect and good to hear him do it so beautifully to this day.
Great lesson Eric, could you do a lesson on combining your arpeggio runs with your scale runs and how you pick your five note runs cheers, love your lessons mate
Ey Eric again thanks a lot for sharing your great knowledge and technique with us, by the way I think the solo in the song One to one with Carole King is fantastic, is my favorite ever.
I noticed the bass player has an EJ poster in the background for a recent Jack Russell Born To Be Wild video. Rick Travis knows who THE MAN man is. And it's Eric Johnson!
Thank you for posting these videos , some times its hard for me to get motivated to learn something new , your videos are reminding me what i should be focused on. i was wondering if you could point out a few scales i should work on as well as theory behind your beautiful chord choices.
Eric Johnson is easily one of the best guitarists of all time.
👍
I agree with you! He will always will be the greatest of all time!!!
i didn’t know there was doubt about it🤔🤷🏻♂️😂
At what?

That g3 version is magical
Right when he switched the chorus on, I was transported back to Austin City Limits when he was playing "Trial of Tears" back in the 80s. Love it!
I watch that clip at last once a week - best live performance I've ever seen
Austin City Limits has some amazing concerts back in the 80’s. I remember Stevie Ray Vaughan absolutely tore it up it 89
Eric has very good taste harmonically. 12 fretting proved to be magical!
Mr Johnson, it is very kind of you to bless us all with your playing skill tips!
May God bless you richly!
OMG, I had no idea. This was wonderful, all for free, and all that’s asked of us is kindness and compassion. I gave Eric, thank you.
Absolutely brilliant. Thank you so much for this and all your lessons, your fantastic music and simply for you in the world. ☮️☮️
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Eric!! You friggin’ rock!!! I’ve been playing for about 38 years (and boy my fingers are tired! 🤪) and these guitar lessons from you are a dream. Thank you for sharing your amazing gift with us all! Love on! ❤️

Legend
Makin' it look easy!!! 👦🏻
Eric Johnson - looks and sounds like your friendly Home Depot Employee - makes the guitar scream like a banshee
Good one Eric. Young starters need this. Old guys that "Forgota" need to re-get in touch with harmonics again.
Young starters need basics. These are advanced techniques.
@@jpdarnell7 Your talking about Morons. This is for people with potential. Go back to sleep.
I can’t believe that you can’t find a better angle to film this videos Eric !
I’m sure he can . He’s a busy man and probably just pulled these videos out of a hat on his phone to bless us.
@@chucklewismusic

Amazing tone! 7 frets up gives you a 5th harmonic harmony!

I'm jealous of those frets.
Could you make a video solely on harp harmonics? I love hearing yours they’re beautiful I wish mine could sound like that
Thank you for posting these videos , some times its hard for me to get motivated to learn something new , your videos are reminding me what i should be focused on. i was wondering if you could point out a few scales i should work on as well as theory behind your beautiful chord choices.

I would pay real money to be a fly on that room... That is, if flies can hear 🤔
