No.. The worst thing you can do to a hot tub is stop it for any period of time and "Drain" it.. First you cannot get all of the water out second the tub is designed to run not sit..
That's a drain plug. If you were leaving the pump in the tub and closing water off to it, there will be water sitting in the impeller housing and you would unscrew that to drain it.
Hello, Friend!👋👋👋 Thank you for this great video. Is this the same set-up for the “Relia-Flo XP2 Wet End Pump?” I have a busted ceramic seal and rust on the impeller--near the the busted seal.😏 Did you make a video showing us how to disconnect and reconnect the Wet End to the pump? Thank you & “Be Well!” Regina
Hi I’m having trouble snapping loose my pumps shaft. It requires a flat head screwdriver and I can’t get enough of a bite on it to turn it. Any suggestions,….?
Spa guy ... I snapped off the thumb screw on my spa pump air bleed valve. I have a spare one but it is useless as most of the broken screw is still in the hole!!! What can be done?
Spa Guy I tried to remove the wet end of my pump which is ten years old by removing the four long screws that go thru the motor and they were all refusing to let go, so i lubed all of them and three of them broke loose and one snapped off. Can that screw be bought at your store? I am also going to buy seal and whatever is necessary to fix the leak at the shaft. Will I need to buy the housing as well because the bolt broke off at the impeller housing? thanks for your time. Dan the DIY Guy!
Would this have been prevented had one removed "all" the water out during winterization? Thanks for your time.

What is the little plastic piece that looks like you can turn it like a plug that is on the outermost part of the impeller housing?

Do you really need to let dry silicone before reinstalling and starting the pump with the water in?
There are instructions that comes with shaft seals that say never to use silicone on rubber so now im confused.
