    I see you are tired
But I can't walk all the steps for you
You have to go them yourself
But I want them to go with you
I hope they go with you
I see you are in pain
But I can't cry all the tears for you
You have to laugh at them yourself
But I will laugh with you
    I'll laugh with you
I see you want to give up
But I can't live my life for you
You have to live it yourself
But I will live with you
    I will live with you
    I see you're scared
But I can't die for you
You have to taste him yourself
But I turn death into life for you
I turn death into life for you
I have turned death into life for you

I read that he is an ordained Lutheran priest and wrote this song after helping a troubled woman in a hospital.

It's the denouement in the last verse when the speaker reveals himself. A clever song which I've heard is now in the Lutheran hymn book.

It is actually very sad about the man struggling in the very last period of his life and the woman saying that she cannot take his sufferng but she can be with him in it... And Sissel singing this alone is actually even better th-cam.com/video/WSxCxXHmkfk/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=sisselfan (Kudos as always Sisselfan)
