Nah, from my perspective they are underrated still. We still have people looking at their surface and making assumptions based on their own preconceived notions of boyband/Korean/kpop. It's okay if you aren't into their brand of music or think they aren't anything special. Plenty of us have looked beyond their surface and we absolutely love what we found. Anyway, this reply would never end if I were to go on and on about how brilliant and artistic I think their discography is and they way they weave literary influences into their body of work. Their lyrics/music are poetic with clever wordplays which they write and produce. They sing live while dancing hard. They give their all in all their stages never once I see them half-ass their performance. They are humble, work hard to keep themselves grounded despite the fame and are always so so grateful to their fans. 7 guys with different personalities yet able to have such strong chemistry and teamwork. You'd think they would have creative differences but I've seen how they would put aside their ego and solve their differences as a team. I think it comes around to their songs that have such a big variety and usually they try to have something deeper to say even the sound might be poppy. If you look songs like Serendipity, Singularity, Outro tear, Fake love, they all are so different so many people can feel some songs if not all. And then there is the aspect of social media. No artist at this time delivers so much content to their fans. And they often do lives that last from 30minutes to 1,5 hours where they really see fans comments, answer their questions, joke with fans, share their thoughts etc wich increases fans dedication and feeling that they know the artist. They pretty much have no other than this music and career, they dont date, dont see much their families, so they can provide so much content that draws people in. They make songs, practise, perform, meet fans, do lives, record, make mvs, give intervievs etc etc. And their personalities are so goofy and adorable that people relate to them but then performing they are totally different and focused.
Well i just want to say that we r lucky to have them in our era. Not only music, but also good inspiration and influences for the world. Maybe u don't know about them well or just watched their piece of surface. And especially for this performance, this is the world-top level.
Daniel Swift doesn’t seem like you know anything about them. I get why you’d think they’re overrated. If you are even remotely interested, I’d suggest to watch an MV without prejudice and watch with captions to understand what they’re saying. Plus this performance he reacted took months to prepare and all their songs lyrics are mostly written by the members. They are not only great producers, performers, but amazing story tellers.
