    How do you spectate the parts he took off the power head?? Why wouldn’t he show that?

    Are you suppose to lubricate that rod you took off? I heard people do that

    Yes its me again. I got my combi back from the dealer, they had removed the attachment from the coupler (which I called a ferrule in my previous comment) then reassembled it to the engine again. I had to take it apart again to get it into the back of my car.
    Two days later I went to use it, tried to fit it to the engine and it stuck again half in half out, cannot remove it or get it further in. It's a brand new attachment which so far I have only managed to get at most half an hours use from. The dealer did not charge me for the work they did, I guess they did it under warranty.

    2024 and I've got a combi with several attachments which quit working properly. Took it to the dealer who gave me a brand new edger attachment. THEN replaced the combi drive shaft and coupler housing. It worked for about two hours then wouldn't connect again. It's back in the shop now.

    Hi, thank you for the video. I have the KM 56 R motor. About 75% of the time when I insert the FS-KM string trimmer attachment it breaks the gray coupler, gets stuck, and cannot go to the red line. I manually disassemble and reassemble with a new coupler. I go through 10+ couplers a year on the string trimmer. My Stihl edger attachment works fine! Thoughts?

    Hi I am new to your channel I found you because I have this problem, a brand new attachment got stuck in the engine. I took the ferrule off as you did, but still couldn't get the attachment drive shaft and plastic out of the ferrule. I know you did it, but you didn't show how you did it. It would be great if you could include how you got it out of the ferrule in a future video.
    I ended up having to take the machine and the attachment back to the dealer who fixed it for free, but it is something I would like to do myself because I lost the use of the machine while the dealer had it for a week.

    OMG can’t find one video showing me how to take the guts out of the coupler. You showed taking it off the you came back and said you got it out. But how did you get it out?

      @Rocketship-ib8wo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Update: I messed around with it way to long only to put Everything back together and rerun the attachment that was stuck inside for a couple minutes. Then I took it apart again and the shaft pulled out as it should. So if your having problems with the shaft pulling apart try running the attached attachment again, then try to take apart again. It worked for me. This time I’ll be leaving the weed whipping attachment in, which is the one i use the most

    I use the Husqvarna 535LK pro combi and the only issue I've had was there was a flimsy plastic sheath on the coupling which was hindering the connection, took them out & no problem since! Nearly bought the Stihl system but opted for Husqvarna due to the extra power, it doesn't disappoint!

    So I have the battery head, KMA-135R, and the reciprocating trimmer, RG-KM. Half the time when I connect the RG-KM to the head, I hear a spinning sound or grinding sound and the blades don't turn. When I fill up the grease and spray down the blades, it usually doesn't help. I can bang the blades in to the grass on their sides which helps sometimes. Eventually the cable shaft seats and it works then no problem. I checked this plastic piece and it seems to be in tact.... maybe bent a little into the center but it is not broken at all. Do you know what might be cause it... or do you think it is this plastic piece? Thank you for your advice or help.

      Hey there yessir that could be why if the are broken off inside the coupler you have to replace the entire shaft part # 4140-710-3220 if the guides just fell out you can replace them part # 4140 -716-2200

    Mine wore out at about a year and I only use it for residential. The engine performs good(especially with Echo Red Shield) and the weight is great ... BUT what a pain in the ___ this flaw is. Stihl should send out a dozen of those plastic parts to every owner free!

    I see a 56. Seems a common 2 piece system problem, especially when user doesnt know to rotate attachment shaft to align connections. ie turn edger blade when pushing in attachment. If force is needed then something isn't right... btw, I just did this today and I know this problem but in my case I am a heavy user and have found the design problems that the average user may never see...

    Great video! How do you change out the end of the driveshaft? Mine has a broken pin and I am hoping I can do it myself? I have an older KM55rc model. Love that you show the part #'s also. Maybe a video of carb cleaning/rebuilding/replacement? Thanks

    • @chainsawmatt4849
      @chainsawmatt4849  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Troy thanks for the comment! I think the km55rc has a replaceable driver similar if not the same to the km56rc i don't have the part number handy at the moment but will be back in the shop on Tuesday and can provide it then. I plan on doing another video on the km style powerheads soon with better detail on replacing parts. The driver replacement should be relatively easy to do at home with standard tools as well as the carburetor cleaning however cleaning carbs is not always the best solution to the repair i typically recommend replacing the carb if you're having problems with the running of the machine the carb for the km55rc usually runs around $50 retail part number 4140-120-0619 do you have a local dealer?

      Run mine without the pins. Bad design of a driveshaft. Put Loctite on them, still fell out after 2 years. Had problems with the set screw stripping out over time. Tighten, check if I can twist shaft, if twists, tighten alittle more.

    Hi - got a 5 year old Stihl km130r kombi with constant attachment failure issues.i get through a lot of plastic inner sleeves with the tabs breaking off.
    Engine Shaft is often sticking into attachment which i keep knocking back out.
    The aluminium housing is always right in and tight.
    Any ideas please

      It could be the driveshaft needs to be replaced in the powerhead side part number is 4140-710-3220 retail is probably around 60 bucks i would try cleaning or maybe even filing or sanding down the female inside part. As far as the plastic sleeve goes its most likely getting twisted to far when it gets stuck I dont see the attachments getting stuck that often the guide pieces could also be broken off or missing.

    Dead silence. No intro for..... 1/2 a minute. I get that it's convenient to lay the kombi and camera on the table, but our point of view is at your waist. To put it bluntly, no one wants to feel like their kneeling to watch you. "Got these pieces out of there...." I lost all patients at 1:10 into the video. When someone's looking for an explanation for something these "little" things matter.

    Crap engineering design Stihl. Instead of relying on the clamp and a plastic key to prevent rotation when using the tools you need a metal pawl like Husqi uses.
