What I love about him, comparing to most jazz musicians in general... He seems to always serve the song and the music. He's never or rarely a show off. If he plays very complicated it always seems that the song needs it. And I've heard him many times play simplistic melodic lines where it seems something else would have suffocated the song.
seems to be a EHX but don't know which... it's amazing because PB is knowning to play whithout effect. Personaly don't hear any effect hear. Maybe a boost ???
Sound engineers always chicken out and put the bass D.I really high in the mix because they would rather have a perfectly in control sterile sound than relinquish complete power in the name of vibe. Ive fallen victim to this many times! Listen to the old 50s radio broadcasts, tv appearances, albums even.. they sound lofi and technically 'flawed' at times but they also sound natural, inspiring and great.
Master of Tone, Taste and Time
Fantastic. Peter Bernstein is definitely one of the finest guitarist. All his notes seem to have a meaning but in the same time played
effortlessly.
yeah, sort of reminds me of jesse van ruller, but at the same time, totally different players, but totally both organic.

He is undoubtedly one of the best in his genre.
Peter's style of playing and tone is perfect.
Simply the best
Cool full sounding trio, and let's the music breathe...soothes the world...thanks...peace
I hear a lot of Kenny Burrell in his playing. Good stuff
great!!
Loved it......absolutely knocked me out - and nothing wrong with the Bass sound at all !!
Could listen to this all day! Fantastic!
waiting for rick beato interview
Great playing as always from Peter. Nice sound too.

I want to cuddle and live inside that bass tone till i die.

Buenísimo. Enhorabuena
this f*cking base is awesome !
Peter is gifted....

Holy good God.

does anybody know what that magnificent guitar peter's playing?
+gal levin Zeidler Archtop
+gal levin Ziedler + Gibson Classic 57 pickup (floating)
Paul Reiser meets Anthony Bourdain. Great guitarist & Rhythm Section. And great guitar timbre/tone as well, totally in the style.
Great drummer too
guitar brand please?
Roberto Pizzo Built by great luthier J. Zeidler, now deceased.
thanks
Very Hip!
martin taylor on the bass
+cy na That's Chuck Dearforf on the bass.. He does resemble Martin Taylor somewhat.
Lol.
What is that pedal on his amp? Anybody knows?

I don't hear anything either.. :/
99% is an ehx holy grail reverb because fender deluxe 20w amp dosn't have it
Peter is as good as it gets on any instrument in jazz these days in my opinion. He is a great person too.
....that description....
Why does it matters that much who is the boss of a band ...
..todo Genio...
Antonio Betancourt todo genio qué..?
very very
❤😂❤😂❤😂❤😂
Bernstein never disappoints. Don't really care for the tone from the bass. Where's that fat woody sound?
If you came for fat woody, I think you're in the wrong part of the Internet :D...all kidding aside, I don't know what you mean, I like the tone!
fix your speakers....
I think its the amp sound. Sounds like farts. I'm sure his acoustic sound must be much better.
Sounds like the amp or DI instead of a mic on the bass

So the drummer takes a solo and they focus on the guitar?
To be honest, most people are probably here to watch Peter Bernstein.
man, this is a public radio??
cant believe it
in Spain radio is MASSIVE SHIT
Yeah in Italy it is too. I guess it is a radio for jazz in particular though
Not a fan of academic (wall street) soul less blues...Wes, Miles, JC, JS and of course Robert Johnson, etc...etc...you get my drift!!!
desotoguitar I am not hearing any academy in Peter's playing. I don't think he ever studied a scale
You can tell who doesn't have an ear by these types of comments.
Erich Johnson exactly
not in Gb. Peter was at college with Brad Mehldau and studied with Jim Hall among others, but I know what you mean.
No, I don’t. Enlighten me, please.
