  • To grow anything you need water and one way of harvesting and storing water is to build a dam,
    Bill Russell built this one for us and as you will see in this short video he does an awesome job.
    If you ever need work done give him a call..... 0418 874 169
    (www.russelldozer.com.au)
    This dam took about 3 days to build and it's 40m X 40m which should hold about 4ML when full.

    Wow there is a lot more Dozer and Ripper work than I ever imagined. Even though I was brought up in far western NSW, this is the first time i've seen a start to finish dam build. Thanks for informing and posting. Great vid.

    Love to make a personal dam one day and grow trophy Bass in it, depending on what side of the range.

    Awesome video. Great dozer work. How good was it to see the kids running around in the background at the end.

      Usual costs are $2000 per day and $500 float. So if took 3.5 day's work, total costs would be around the $7500 mark,...

      I'd say that this is a simple reservoir.
      The right definition of dam is "an artificial barrier in a watercourse which aims to retain and accumulate liquid substances or a mix of liquid and solid substances", because a dam can be also used for mining purposes for example. Besides that, a dam is not only the barrier (body) itself but also a set of structures, which means that to be considered a dam there must be at least a reservoir, the structural body (earth, concrete, embankment) and a safety device such as spillways and stilling basins.
      By the way, very interesting work you did mate. Thanks for sharing the video with us.

    • @darrenmuller1536
      @darrenmuller1536  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Mess? It's full of water now and there is plenty of native animals that often visit for a drink or feed of yabbies or fish. Unfortunately the dam was needed to supply water to irrigate.
