Please media, don't confuse others even more, especially the foreigners. Most of the "residents" being evicted aren't even part of the Ati tribe, the original local settlers of the island. It is a pain, yeah, but those illegal settlers have brought it upon themselves. Let's just hope this island recuperates faster and be reborn into what it once was.
Went to Boracay in 2004 with my wife and son and it was beautiful but the next time we went you didn't have to walk ashore from your boat and a big boat dock had sprung up along with a new hotel and shanty town and twice as many tourists manly koreans and russians and it was crap
They should kick illegal settlers out of the Island as part of its rehabilitation. Its saddening that the real locals (ATI tribe) were being fenced off and discriminated when they should be part of the Island's progress.
I am hoping that the present government has to make amendments or conclude a beneficial programs for these aborigines of Aklan for the fact that they are the original settlers or owners of Boracay Island. So sad to know that they are being set aside, neglected by those corrupt officials of the past administrations starting from Cory Aquino. These Ati people should have been benefited from the earnings of Boracay Island tourism which is a billion pesos that goes only to the pockets of greedy politicians and businessmen of the country. It really hurts seeing them with no future!!!
Nakakaiyak, Pilipino ako pero never pa kong nakatungtong ng Boracay, tapos eto na pala itsura niya?!😭😭 Nakakagigil talaga yung mga tao na gahaman at sakim!!! 😭😭😡😡
It's crazy that there is no sewage treatment plant and no recycling facilities. With the number of tourists there this was bound to be a problem. All the raw sewage dumped in the ocean. All that garbage in landfills on a 10 sq. km. island. I wonder if 6 months will be enough. I've never been to Boracay. I don't plan on going when there are so many islands in the Philippines that are better choices.
Kung wala kayong trabaho mag linis kayo sa bora sabagay kau din kasalan kung bakit ganyan yung bora kung maka pag salita lng ang dagat nako minumura na kayo
Why focus on the minority?; Have you realized that even big businesses in Boracay will be dealt accordingly in accordance with the law. If they violated any law, then they will have to face the consequence as well. PRRD's administration tries to apply the law equally and not only for the minority.
Eugene B. Lol don't be a douche! Religion is one of the reasons for overpopulation in the Philippines. People aren't well informed regarding family planning/contraception. If the gov't can't properly impose laws then what's the point of even having one? Most pinoy don't comply anyway and the church will block it. Some European countries do have lower birth rate not because of Muslims but because of so many factors. It's not just biased of you to assume but also ignorant.
actually ang daming adik na mahirap at gumagawa ng masama. Usually kasi ang daming anak ng mga walang kaya. Kung ganyan yan dapat talaga one child lang para sa kanila. /yung may kaya why not? You don't have to call names kasi hindi kapa naka pag paliwanag
Eugene B. Actually I do know what the other factors are....I am part Norwegian. Europeans aren't the only ones with lower birth rates. It includes most first world countries. Do you really think a gov't is capable of providing jobs for everyone when your population is bloated? Not only does it take a toll on your gov't resources it also affects the environment.
