Yea get something durable like rustoleum for sure. Spray paint comes off no matter what from use so I left this the way I got it. The bike was in pieces but still taped like it had been torn down to paint then never put back together. Was missing a good bit though and had to replace the crank in the honda that came with it.

What paint did you use on the rims
IF I painted my wheels I'd suggest Rustoleum Grill Paint since it is so resilient to contaminants and high temperature.
