Hello Matt my good friend, i knew you were going to like this livery with that shiny silver base, plus that is one sharp livery period. God bless brother
Your dose of Evocative Greatness from British Columbia to begin the week! Coming back from an era when I had not yet been born, the 175 Skylark (which shares its name with a legendary Buick car) was last produced in 1962. Taxiing, takeoff, climb, the new lights, and the sheer bare-metal beauty of the 175 itself all add up to a Dream but better than a Dream because it is real and You are sharing it! Thanks a Lot, Jesse!
Thanks very much Javier! I was really happy to catch this one, I believe it is only the second 175 I have had the chance to film at CZNL. Love the look of the bare-metal livery!
Jesse my good friend, great catch & that is a flat out sharp livery, extra nice, i'm usually a wing under guy, but i cannot deny the beauty of this plane
@@TheHDAviation jesse, you enjoy also, is a 3 day holiday weekend here, labor day, you get a day off for working, but you don't work on that day, lol, i never understood that reasoning, lol.
@@richardhodge4556 This C175 has the Stoots Aviation IO-360M1B 180hp engine conversion. It's fuel injected with cold air induction. Dyno runs show about 190hp to the crank. Burns about 8.5 to 9.0 gph and the cruise should be about 140+ mph. How do I know, I'm Stoots, enjoy. www.stootsaviation.com
Similar looks to an early 172 nice plane love the scenery to btw flew a 1958 172 back in the early 80s i think it had a 470 continental had almost 500 hours with it thanks for sharing
Real beauty! But are you sure this is a Skylark? AFAIK the 175 was the higher powered version of the 172 with a geared six-cylinder engine. This one sounds like a regular four-cylinder. I may be wrong, do educate me ;-)
@@matthiasmjf i think you are right friend, plus he had passengers in the back, & looked heavy on rotate & on gaining altitude, i got 2 videos on mine when i clicked, the 1st was a 172, white with blue pin stripes, then this one appeared.

It really is a great looking aircraft! I'm glad you found some information on the engines, I had no idea what powered the 175. Not a type I see here very often.
I still think that hearing the comms would add something to your vids easily done with the scanner near your camera. I’ll be in Nelson this week and will bring mine. Let me know if you want to meet up!
Does this one have the Continental IO-360-C STC engine conversion and fitted with a lightweight composite constant speed Prop because I noticed the cowling and if it is truly the performance made a difference on his takeoff roll with flaps made a great smooth departure to climbing
@ Bemard Anderson, just curious my friend, are you an aircraft mechanic ?, because you have extreme knowledge of the mechanisms of this plane. I majored in aviation in college in the early 80's, but i'm not as well versed as you in the mechanisms. I'm 57 now, but grounded for health reasons. God bless you & yours & please stay safe.
The original straight tail 175 didn’t have the hump in the cowl, but it still had the GO-300. Our first family airplane was a 1960 A model Skylark (not all early 175s were “Skylarks”) with the swept tail... and the cowl hump. Only had it a couple of years and upgraded to a Skylane.

Loved the glint off the wings and fuselage as they are turning up the valley!;)
Ya, that was really cool to see while filming!
TheHDAviation I really enjoy all the different airplanes you show case from the conventional to turbo props. I assume you are in the Vancouver area?
@@keg1dog Ya, we're lucky and CZNL gets an interesting mix of planes passing through. I'm about an 8 hours drive east of Vancouver.
It’s hard to beat the look of polished metal on an airplane.

what a great looking aircraft! I love how even the shirt of the pilot matches with the livery.
That's true, you've got to match your outfit to your aircraft 😃 Thanks for watching.
You sure have a variety of interesting aircraft cycling through Nelson.
I'm glad you are there to share them with us!

That airplane is drop dead gorgeous! You did really well tracking its flight path - I think the camera fell in love!

Found quite some 175 that sound the same... perhaps a conversion exists as the GO300 engine had somewhat of a reputation...
