    Nice idea with the holder for the battery door, i researched this grip and never knew about that

    I had no idea that grip could accept AA batteries! That's a great feature. I was going to get one anyway, but that's a big plus. I will get an eyepiece extender too. I have been smudging the LCD screen today trying to get used to the viewfinder. Thanks again! Anything you can think to do about this camera is great! I like the videos a lot.

    Thanks for the review, it really helped me improve the understanding about the camera accessories. I was planning to get a battery grip for my camera. Now I'm thinking of going ahead wth the battery grip.

    It helps improve one's grip on the relatively small body, especially if you have larger hands, since you can press into its corner or the lower edge of the grip in portrait orientation with your ring finger and pinky. It also rests better in either orientation into your palm. The extra weight towards the back helps with heavier lenses that would otherwise make the camera tilt forwards, too.
    It makes the camera considerably bulkier and heavier, though, so it's not ideal for everyone/everything.

    Hey Richard, thanks for the video. I got a question, will i be able to have my Battery Grip AND my gorilla tripod attached at the same time? Or will the Battery Grip be in the way?

    The eyepiece will actually reduce the size of the viewfinder image (by 30%). The idea is to make it easier to see the whole image when wearing glasses. However it will likely make it harder to focus since the size is smaller. If you are near or farsighted, and can't get the diopter to adjust enough, you may need a diopter adjustment lens - although they are almost always on back order and hard to get.

    the main reason for the battery grip is actually so the camera can reach tose higher shutter speeds while using flash.

    Rick, I find that the viewfinder 'rubber surround' has come off before very occasionally. Do you find that's common with the eyepiece extender whilst moving it in and out of the case?

    The grip trigger doesn't work for me, it focuses but it doesn't end up taking the photo, why can it be?

    Ofcourse you can, I only have one battery in my grip for the 50D, and that gives me more than 8 hours of non-stop shooting over 1200 frames.

      Hi. No it's not unfortunately for the 550D you need the BG-E8.

    Untuk pakai mic external bisa atau tidak??

    • @rickjbradbury
      @rickjbradbury  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I remember correctly you can't use an external mic with the 500D unless you use a separate recorder like a zoom H1.
      Jika saya ingat dengan benar Anda tidak dapat menggunakan mikrofon eksternal dengan 500D kecuali Anda menggunakan perekam terpisah seperti zoom H1.
