    Somewhere over the rainbow
    Way up high
    There's a land that I've heard of
    Once in a lullaby
    Somewhere over the rainbow
    Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream, really do come true
Some day I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the stars are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
    Way above the chimney tops
    That's where
    You'll
    Find
    Me
    Somewhere over the rainbow
    Blue birds fly
    birds fly over the rainbow
    Why then
    Oh, why can't I?

    Beyond the rainbow

@@ellynmacgregor8210 That's one story. The other is that it was actually producer Mervyn LeRoy who didn't want his vision despoiled any further. He'd grudgingly agreed to the removal of the Jitterbug sequence, the Triumphal Return sequence, and even a reprise of "Over the Rainbow," but he had fought like mad to get Judy the starring role, and he would be damned if her signature tune was not in the finished product.

Short-sided studio executives wanted to cut this song because they felt it "slowed the picture down" and they couldn't have a "fat girl singing in a barnyard." MGM did irreparable damage to Garland's self-image and self-esteem. Common sense prevailed for the song, however. "Over The Rainbow" stayed in the picture and won an Academy Award.

Is this Judy's song or Dorothy's song????

Good question. I remember once hearing a woman on the radio say, "When she sang "Over the Rainbow," Judy and Dorothy became one."

1:08: A shot from a dog tied up to a wheel?
What was the intention of it? Most likely god(dog) being bound to the samsara(?) wheel a.k.a. we bound to the endless illusionary life.

The Federal Government, the Reagan Administration, once spent millions investigating and seeking out the character from the Wizzard of Oz, Dorothy Gale. They considered her to be a National Security Threat. [Operation: Friends of Dorothy] True Story!

Pull the other one. I was around at the time and there was never any such kak as that. Dorothy Gale was a literary character who had first appeared in a book in 1900, as the entire world knew.
