I have been looking all over for this! This was on channel 56,and I was 8 years old, I stayed up past midnight to watch this, they also played the looks that kill video, and at the end they gave a station I'd,they said "motley who? Motley crue! And your watching the beat on wllz detroits wheels"..I remember so good, because this very episode was the one that made me a metal head forever,I'm 36 now thank you for posting this!
In light of Eddie Vedder's anti-Crue comments, this vid aged well for Motley. They're still real to themselves and having fun with music. Never boring.

Take me out of 2019, and back to the 80’s 🤘🏼

I still have this interview on video tape!
Vince look is so badass!
I want to go back to the 80's!
It's been 10 years and your comment is even more worthy lol
In light of Eddie Vedder's anti-Crue comments, this vid aged well for Motley. They're still real to themselves and having fun with music. Never boring.
True, Vedder is just a jealous moron
Vince’s style looks so sick here
Someone get me out of 2015 and take me back to 1983 place
Augh no Internet no way
Lol you think 2015 is bad, I got some news for ya about 2021 lol
Fr tho
If you thought 2015 is bad i wonder what you think of 2020 hahah
Loved it! Please upload more =)
"Th Beat" (Detroit) w/ Doug Podell - Good Memories and AMAZING bands and songs!!!
In this video they seem sober at least, they're wasted in pretty much all of the other 1983 interview videos here on the tube! Thanks for the upload!
likkidixx sober but not clean cuz SIXX was high on Dope terrible lol
I'd just like to point out that Nikki correctly pronounced the word 'macabre'.
+Mick Funz Yeah, but then he said, "pyro-techniques." Haha!

“Money ruins a lot of bands”! He probably never imagined how wealthy he would end up!
jaydenskeeper1 And it didn't even ruin the band! It all worked out in the end.
Goals.

Nikki was soooo hot! 💗🤘💗
let’s go back in time to the 80’s
Love them 😍

WOW "The Beat" with Doug Podell, what a trip. I was 14 fuking years old.
Those were the days!!
AWESOME
God Vince and Nikki are so hot!!!
Holy shit!! I was at that show in K-zoo!!! LoL
After watching and reading the dirt, it makes me wish time machines existed
"The money part ruins it for a lot of bands." If this was a novel, I'd call that foreshadowing.
Yes!
Hard to stay hungry and motivated when your belly and your bank account is sizable.
this was from the Detroit show the beat with Doug Podell that was on every saturday night at 11.
This is love!!
im high how did i get here
Fuck off
WeedVulva you clicked a couple of buttons
Great interviewer
awesome! love it!!
Finally I find the intro to all bad things haha
there is a clip of it on the" down at the whiskey" video a fan made ;-)
On with the show
💯🙌👑🙏👑🎶🇵🇪
This was a show in Detroit called The Beat.
I love how the interviewer says LP a few times

"Farewell tour :(
+Rose Thibodeau yeah i caught that, bummer.
Dr. Doug Podell- great guy!
This is really vintage dude . . . Nikki seems to keep talking when the vid ends . . . is there more?
they remind me of hippies....I can just here Nikki saying man at end every sentence in this video lol
He didn’t say that in any sentence??
Ahhhh. 80s were the best!
At 2:30 and 1:44 they talk about how good Iron Maiden are, but Iron Maiden hate Motley Crue and feel they're about the fame and not music.
Ironic.
Cool interview
If you are gonna say that, than think about all the people who compare Poison and Winger to Motley Crue...
THE BEAT! DOUG FROM WLLZ DETROIT SHOW!!!!!
2:03 how depressingly ironic man
Do you have this full show on DVD-R?
Doug Podel, WLLZ Detroit. Nice.
Ahhhh Vince. Free booze, eh? How telling of his future path (and still to this very day). OXOXOOXOXOXO
Doug Podell at the time with WLLZ FM Detroit...
the beat
@iluvkochikame its hypocritical as well because at that time Nikki hated Iron Maiden
Motley had no stage show for SATD. They never Had coffins ⚰️ and spiders 🕷 on stage 😊
"We'd rather break up than be bland"
Pretty ironic considering their next three albums lol
still badass

Ok Vince giving Tommy Bolin some love!
Shout at the devil is the best crüe album.no doubt
so hot... so hot....
Hot
@IronZeek13 Why does he compliment them here then?
Doug "The Doctor" Podell
80s had everything going on. 2020 ? Not so much. Ghost town tumbleweeds.
@IronZeek13 That's true though!
Love how MC always threw shade towards KISS. KISS sucks
And still at least Nikki and Tommy liked Kiss. They propably didnt want to be considered as Kiss copycats
Kiss does suck. I never understood the fascination with that bad at all. Boring music
@@kristinlee9485 that's quite alright - KISS fans can do without intelligent people such as yourself

@iluvkochikame Because hes on t.v. hes not gonna rap on the biggest heavy metal band on the planet on t.v.

Part 2 of cocaine the other white meat !!
Shout at the devil! Not with! Vince neil!
SIXX was on heroin bad there
This was 1983 when he was first trying it. He wasn't bad yet but he was on his way.
Looks more like the end of SATD look.. i think it's 84.
