Thanks for the information. The 710i and the 760i also have access to the Messenger App now. I'll be testing it more to see if there are other improvements, other than the increase of internal memory. Rick
I always enjoy your videos, thank you! I’m looking forward to see if it is worth upgrading from the 700i and see if the UI speed is faster on the 750i and 760i. Also, what is the price of the new 750i and 760i.
Thanks for the thumbs up. The prices on Amazon are below: 700i = $585.32 750i = $674.00 710i = $799.99 760i = $899.99 Let me know if you have any other questions. Rick
I can't tell any difference at this time. I'm going to run some more tests, but there isn't a lot of difference between the two. One person commented here that the main reason for the 710i/760i was to accommodate a requirement from the E.U. to change to a USB-C connection. I have yet to get confirmation on this but honestly, at this time, and with me not needing the USB-C connection, I'm irritated that I spent about $900 to test this new model out, other than being able to tell everyone here what my thoughts are. Rick
The increased battery life is due to a new higher capacity battery pack that comes with the 710/760. You should be able to order this battery pack separately, and it is apparently compatible with the 700/750, giving them the same battery life. So that's one less difference.
The only meaningful update is the storage increase, and it's a real bummer that they did not provide even slightly more storage in 700 series, that storage requirement was clearly neglected by Garmin as evidenced by how many folks reported issues with map updates due to storage shortage. 710 feels like a cash-grab to be honest.
Thanks for sharing this. I agree and I have been a little disappointed that more was not updated on these. Honestly, it may be the E.U. requirements that triggered the upgrade. I'll be finding out more about this soon. Rick
I have never had that happen in any of my test, but thank you for bringing that up. I will follow up with Garmin soon after I test it more, and see if I can get additional information from them. Rick
@@outdooremergencytech You got Montana 75x only for testing? Maybe there was not enough time to let this bug manifest itself. My unit turns off SOMETIMES... not often. Like an every few hours or so.
I have the Montana 760i. I never had the problem you're referring to with my Montana 750i. I probably would have called Garmin and asked for a replacement. Have you tried that? Rick
I miss the multiband L1/L5 feature in all Montanas, therefore I would prefer the GPSMAP 67/67i.
Good point.
Rick
The small update is mainly due to the new laws in Europe. From January 2025, devices without USB-C will no longer be allowed to be sold.

Can you tell if the 760i is faster ? Waiting

What you miss here are those unexpected shutdowns with 750i... should be solved in 760i. And this could be KEY difference.
