Just before touchdown (11:11) you can see the wing generating a lot of lift as it approaches the threshold at the slower speed. There is a large upward inclination of the wing, a lot of force. As soon as the main wheels touchdown, the load is now transferred to the landing gear and you see the wing flatten out. Very awesome.

+am1966ath naww, i don't think they would have. My first time and the last, the flight was delayed by 11 hrs. They said to go home and come back. The staff didn't look helpful anyway.
Vishu .V Well that is an occuring problem with Air India..AI has great catering and usually beautiful air hostesses but their customer service stinks..their ground staff is rude and have a tendency to vanish when there is a problem..Biman Bangladesh is even worse..go Lufthansa..they apply EU law concerning passengers right..ie that you have the right to meals,hotel and compensation..

Personally I think if your on business or first air India is ok. Their brand new cabin in 787 looks from the 80's but the seats are nice and service is impeccable. Economy, probably one of the worst airlines in the world

If you want a good Indian airlines that is good for all classes, choose Jet Airways
very soon air India will have a competitor b787 dreamliner flying in pakistan international who have finalised a deal of 8 787's with Boeing first of which will be delivered in june
Air india already has more than 20 drealiners in their fleet.
besides just having 787s done make PIA compete with air India.
Air India also has direct flights to over 4 continents.
NORTH AMERICA,AUSTRALIA,NORTH AMERICA AND ASIA
Air India flies to chicago,San francisco,Newark,NewYork
and next year its starting WASHINGTON DC, and Houston as well.
I dont think PIA flies to any US cities does it..?
also PIA doesnt fly to singapore,Seoul,Melbourne,Sydney directly does it..?
Air India is also a star alliance member that makes it more benefificial to fly Air India as we get the benifit of earning miles.
Flight Reporter pia flies to Washington DC , New York and Chicago Toronto canada. It flies to a number of European destinations as well plus with the inclusion of new air craft pia will also be starting new routes

Sorry my freind but PIA doesnt fly to USA direct it has 2 stops LHR and MAN and then proceeds to JFK.
JFK is the only spot it flies to in the US totall north american 2 destinations thats it.
Whereas AIR INDIA flies to 4 destinations in the North America and by next year direct to WASHINGTON will be 5 and also houston and boston are on plans.
also AI has the biggest 787 fleet in the SOUTHERN ASIAN REGION.

India's largest airline is Jet Airways as they have got 116 aircrafts and have orderd more 737s and around ten 787s..

What a pleasant coincidence. I'll be flying Frankfurt to Delhi in December. As much as I love window seats, I worry about having to go over my neighbor. Is it generally on time from Frankfurt as my layover in Delhi is 2 hours, before I head onwards to BKK?
Don't worry about that executive is generally pretty quiet. 18 seats I have never seen more than 5 full in 6/7 trips

Techi Hitlar I even flew on the air india 787 last time and I couldnt believe. I swear I read the display and I swear twice THERE WAS WRITTEN 1140 KM/H!!!!!I STILL HAVE THE PHOTO!!!!
Oh thts gud to learn tht such speed could be attained by AI. But it is because of this high velocity Turbulence occurs

does air india offer wifi on board? im thinking of going to australia from the UK in business class so its around 32 hours with stop overs is this honestly worth the money? I have read mixed reviews so I am not sure what to think. Thanks

No most other airlines are a little more modern emirates offer wifi. Air India does not

+Jessica Thompson what can I say their brand new Dreamliner is configured like early 90's business class. The only reason I fly on its the only flight that non stop from Bhx to del. and it's an over night flight which is great
+Jessica Thompson or maybe etihad, value for money nice planes and service not sure if they have wifi probably do. But seriously check out Oman air. Gulf air pretty good too and they got seriously low prices for business and a decent cabin

Gauri Patil hot water for de icing it's done in cold temperature
Thats called De-icing... prevents snow to buld up on wings , which causes more Drag or in other terms causes a lot of problem for the airflow that goes through the wing, if the icing is caused it causes more weight and stress on the wings and can be fatal in some cases....
