After School had a whole MV with pole dancing in 'First Love' song, back in 2013, but Solar definitely revived the thing, showed its not forgotten etc.
And speaking of how they know how much they can say etc and go back to singing: as far as i know, they get announcements or smth like that in their in-ears.
"Idols reactions to Hwasa on stage" always gives me goosebumps.
Mamamoo is iconic. One of the best girls groups there is especially in kpop.

There was a fan group who had a song that came out with a sexy concept, where all the members or pole dancing in the music video but prior to solar performance I don’t think it was ever done live for a music award show before

I'm very thankful that MAMAMOO introduced me to kpop industry. They are the group I discover and listen to for the first time in kpop. There is no toxicity of the fandom and the group.

The performance you said you hadn't seen before was their cover of AOA's Good Luck on Queendom. If you really haven't seen it you missed something extra special.
The award show where they marched in like boss bitches without Wheein was from the 2019 Golden Disc Awards. Wheein was there for the performance but had injured her ankle so she didn't do the boss lady cat walk with the others. Wheein sat on a chair when they sang Starry Night and Egotistic and did a smooth af chair dance duet with a male dancer at the end of Starry Night. Solar did it a lot she wasn't the first to pole dance for a kpop group I don't remember who did it but she genuinely did it a lot and really complex choreo too she studied it seriously and to be honest I don't know if it's really a trend because she did it around 2018 and just lately people did it in concert like solar as a trend so it's debatable
