I think finally this year learned something XD
SFV reveals at CEO 2016 (Balrog trailer + Juri & Urien teaser) and EVO 2018 (G and Sagat trailers) are the highlights, they had awesome reactions, so Capcom knows how to amaze people, it's just that they haven't put much effort into SFV as a whole. Some people might also mention the Capcom Cup 2017 reveal (Sakura trailer + S3 Pass full reveal), but I don't remember it being that hype. Most people were expecting more from Arcade Edition.
Thank God the Honda, Lucia and Poison announcement got leaked before EVO, cuz it was disappointing anyways.

...I was excited for Cloud too. Makes up for them shoving that fucking Marth wannabe in the game (Lucina)...instead of a decent fucking FE character...(I even contacted Nintendo with 5 FE characters they COULD'VE ADDED instead of her and WHY (in great detail, down to the amount of damage their moves would do.) why all 5 of them would be better than that Marth copy.

I thought people were well aware at this point that she was added in a fraction of the time that any other non-clone characters were, and that adding said clone characters took less time combined than a single character.

Hey, I'm not saying Nintendo fucked up or anything...I'm just saying that with a little more time (and money) they could've brought back some FE characters that really deserved more recognition than they got. (Example, Ephraim and Eirika from Sacred Stones...now, imagine Ephraim wreaking havoc with that lance of his...That would be amazing. He'd make people who love to get in to point-blank range to attack a hard time, because he'd have amazing keep-away tactics. A spear is the great equalizer in fighting games...you try to pit a sword against it...the lance is gonna win every time, because RANGE. Hence why the Weapons Trinity in FE goes Swords over Axes, Axes over Lances, and Lances over Swords.)

Koricthegreat washed up fighter I think you mean Yoshimitsu, and that Yoshimitsu is not the same one as the Tekken Yoshimitsu, considering the several centuries of difference between the Soul Calibur era and the Tekken era (remember that in Heihachi's story of SC2, it says he went back in time)

Definitely, but its only that snk gets it when they allow their chars to be put in a fighting game not made by them. It's a shame because their fighting franchises like fatal fury, samsho, and kof, which my favorite series in the genre, are underrated but really awesome.

Based on T7's story I think they just find some way to incorporate a character into the game's canon, so it's less "hey, Fatal Fury and Tekken share the universe and more "Geese Howard exists in Tekken universe now"... though it'd be cool if Southtown was a legit place in Tekken world. We'll see what the DLC brings.

Death combos, most characters have death combos that rely on the opponent making just a couple of mistakes.
The difference here is that again, currently Akuma and Eliza are for all intents and purposes rather meh despite their unique playstyle, they're not overused in the slightest in Tekken, they're black sheep, but not dominating anything. It's not like Soul Calibur where Link was actually good or Yoda's fuckness, your logic is flawed asf.
If Kazuya were added into SF5 he'd most likely be reminiscent of his SFxT self, which in SF5 would feel balanced, V-Reversals being able to answer for the Tekken style aggressor and Kazuya's cd being his way to close the distance, he'd basically be a quicker Nash without a fireball, wanna try again?

Everything about Geese, his design, his gameplay, his cheeky personality he just feels like he belongs in the Tekken Universe.
over 5 years later and this is STILL one of the most insane reveals in a long, long time. keep in mind that at the time SNK wasn't doing too hot, to put it charitably (PS1 Andy Bogard, shitty netcode, etc) so seeing Geese Goddamn Howard in the biggest fighting game of that generation was like. absolutely unreal. it almost felt like vindication to ppl like me who love SNK games to see them paid tribute like this. then a couple years later we got Teremy Bogard in that new minecraft fighting game and now SNK kinda feels like they're getting back their place at the big boy's table and i argue this is where it TRULY started to come together for them. best guest character pick in AGES
I think this is when things turned round for SNK, getting their characters out there really helped bring them back
I think vindication came in Capcom vs SNK 2. But I support everything you said. I use to play SNK games more than Capcom form 96 to 2002. My friends really didn't give them a chance till CVS2.. But to the general public..Your right Tekken 7 was when SNK arrived to the normal public.
