- Hole in the Wall is a wilderness area surrounded by El Malpais National Monument. There are stories and rumors of buried treasure, train robbers, cattle thieves, plane crashes and more dating back to the Spanish explorers. Riding in on horseback, I show the enviroment and share a couple of my favorite stories of the area. True or not they this area is not like anywhere else.

It sure was green down in there! Beautiful! I was surprised to see the pines there. I heard about you from Brett Vaughn and already happy with your videos. Thanks for entertaining us.
Great episode! Can’t wait for the next one!
Thanks for bringing us along. Don't see too many packers these days running a squaw hitch.
@@chalkrockranch thanks. I try and use a variety of hitches but I definitely have my go to’s.
Hi! Great episode, as usual. If you haven't already, you need to read "Hidden Treasures of the Black Range, The Real Story of the Lost Adams Digging" by Marshall Buell. It makes a very good case for the Diggings actually being in the area of Hermosa, in the eastern Black Range. The confusion led from Adam's map showing a peak in Arizona being mistaken for Cooke's Peak. It might still be available at the Silver City Museum bookstore. Also, I believe the outlaw gang was led by Blackjack Ketchem, not Christian. Great story about the plane crash! You are a very good videographer, if that is the right term...
@@dr.maturin4648 I just recently heard of that book but haven’t got to read it yet. I wanted to buy it locally but the Hillsboro museum and the silver city museum were sold out. I’ll just order it off Amazon. It sounds like a good one.
I just stary watch you videos which I love. Just what to ask what do you use for protection when you are out on the trial?
@@steven666xx I carry a gun but in reality you probably need more protection in a city than out in the woods. It’s better to be ready though. Thanks for watching.
I would like to see a video about the other gila cliff dwelling you mentioned that you enter from the top
@@jasonwallace5366 I need to make time to get over there. I don’t go that direction very often but it’s worth the trip.
I ran a ranch in the valley of fires, by Carrizozo. You could drop a rock in some of those cracks and not hear hit bottom!
I heard that story from Avery Hurt. He packed those guys in , one trip when the Webbs couldn’t make it. Walt Nichols was a legend in this part of the World. He built the cement troughs on the ranch I own now. He was a buddy of my wife’s grandad, lotsa damn funny stories. You get Tink Burris started on his stories, your suckin for your wind!

I guess I double tapped that. 🙂
