We have the university campus emergency posts in Canada also. We also a service where any student can ask to be accompanied to their car or bus stop in the evening. In any case, you are really making us (well, me at least) discover a part of the US I have not yet visited and I greatly enjoy your guided visits. You seem to be experiencing fantastic weather during your US visit ,unlike the roller coaster of too cold and then heatwaves in Montreal-Ottawa-Toronto since early May.
