    When you want a good explanation on an item or subject, look it up on TH-cam. I just installed my 3 camera Blink system this morning, pretty simple and straightforward. Your video was very informative, covering all what the system settings are and how they function. Good job, thank you! Now my question is; those 171+ individuals who gave your video a thumbs down..... I don't get it.

    Thank you so much. This morning I could not view the clip recording. When I clicked on the blink app, the bottom section was gone! So I googled it 🤷🏼‍♀️. Than TH-cam and yours was the first video. I unplugged wall unit and restarted my phone and all is fixed. You are a lifesaver 💯

    Attaching the doorbell to the mount is a little difficult but once it locks into place it seems extremely sturdy. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxxHZwMa8CsRjYhf9s4W8w0Dwm47uytWOp I replaced my regular doorbell with this and hard wired it in, using my existing wires and mechanical chime. It works perfect so far and integrates perfectly with my blink camera system. It also works seamlessly with Alexa

    You had the Activity Zones backwards. The area you DO NOT want motion sensing in is the gray area. The colored area is the area that senses motion. At least that is how my cameras work. This works especially good if there are spiders near the edge of the frame. You can keep them from setting off the cameras.

    • @moem3595
      @moem3595 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Thats what I thought too..but when I gray out the areas, they still record. Does it really work?

    • @miket.5174
      @miket.5174 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@moem3595 It seems to work fairly well. I have two cameras on opposite sides of my yard aimed toward each other. At night they each are set off by the other camera's light. If I gray out the area where the camera is it stops them from recording each other. And in the day time I block bushes and trees blowing in the wind and setting off the cameras. The one thing I haven't learned to control is shadows from clouds moving across the yard on sunny days. The cameras detect motion and record.

    I love our Blink cameras, but it drives me nuts how they take so long to activate. My wife can pull up, get out of her car, and be coming into the house before I get any notification on the device, and it will record her just stepping out of the driveway through the door instead of her pulling up, getting out, etc. When delivery guys show up, I usually see them walking away, not approaching.

      @@mayssm ours is on early detection but still get video alerts 10-15 minutes after the fact, sometimes longer than that. Always lets me know when my husband is outside lol every single movement. I have to disengage. But if he’s at the end of the driveway coming in , it doesn’t inform me till he walks in the door. Ha ha thank goodness it’s not somebody actually breaking in. On the bright side, I don’t have to answer the door to strangers anymore. Click a button and say “ can I help you?” For that it’s worth it’s weight in gold if hubby is gone.

      @@dalegrant7015 lol your welcome. There are a lot of options in the settings. Go to settings/motion detection. Be sure to highlight that button that way you are notified immediately. You can also tinker with the motion sensitivity, zones & retrigger time. Now, on the retrigger time the minimum is 10 seconds which is where I have mine set. The problem is that a lot can happen in 10 seconds the camera is off. Lastly, be sure to enable the early notification if you enabled the motion detection.

    We have had our system for over a year now. They were working great until our neighbors got the same system. Now they record whenever they feel like it regardless of how we have our settings and privacy areas set at. Literally just had my neighbor pull into my side of the driveway and my camera never activated with sensitivity set to 7. Had my doorbell set to 4 and it was picking up every car in the privacy zone. We have changed batteries once since getting them, and have reset the system twice. Now that Amazon has been having “suspicious reviews” left on these, I can’t even write a review. Seriously go with another system.

    Is there a way to schedule different activity zones to be active/inactive at different times of day? I have onstreet parking, during the day when I'm gone I don't want to be notified every time someone comes in or out of the spot in front of my house, or a car dives through the unblocked zone where my car would normally be parked, but at night I want motion around my car to be picked up. Today I just "painted" the parking spot inactive- but more than likely I'll forget to undo it tonight. So it would be great to have that on a schedule.

    I have four running, but kind of regret my decision now, as I really would have liked one or two of them to record 24 hr... which isn't supported by blink. I also find the lag time from cam detection or doorbell to my phone quite lagging at times, despite having a very fast internet/wifi. I'd hate to change systems at this point, wondering if the cams could be used with another type of system or not.

    Great video but I’m still unsure for example if the motion detection was a 30 second clip I wanna see 2 mins before the motion even tho it wasn’t detected how do I choose a specific time to see the camera as motion dosent pick as much as I want to be picked up

    Just a question..about how long do the batteries last ( generally ) before you have to change them?
    ANd what is approx range ( line of sight ) ?
    thanks Savanna

      About 2 years, but this varies depending on how active the camera is. If there are a lot of bugs flying by, wind, animals, humans, etc. that would trigger the camera more often than normal, then you would probably have to change the battery sooner. There are solar panels that you can buy separately that would power the camera instead of batteries. The panels would be great for cameras that are exposed to high traffic areas.

    Excellent video really good one of the best I've seen. I have a question When you hit the little blue man to stop motion yet your camera is still on I don't understand that concept Can you elaborate for me When would you want to hit the blue man indeed disarm that part but yet have the camera still armed?

      I disabled motion detection on indoor camera pointing at inside of front door and living room. No need when at home. If I left town for a couple days then I would activate indoor as well as outside motion alerts.

    Couple questions if I may. are you able to share certain cameras with family members? Or can you share all the cameras? And can I armed and disarmed one camera and not the other or is it all or none? Thank you very much for your time and your video

    A great video for those just starting out with these cameras.
    Anyone else having this audio issue? For the past few months, when I view a live view, the audio is played through my "in-call" volume and not "media". I've gone through customer support but sadly they were as useful as a screen door on a submarine. In the end, they told me it was a known issue. But it's still not fixed. 😞

    • @sweetkandee1582

      Can you explain what you mean by "in call" and "media"? We have audio issues as well. Thanks.

      @@sweetkandee1582
      On my android phone, when I press the volume up or down button, I have control over the sound that comes from "media", "ringtone", "notifications" (on-call too?) and "system". When I try to lower the volume when watching a live view, it doesn't lower the volume from "media" but thinks I'm on a call or something and lowers the volume from the wrong setting, basically not lowering the volume at all.
      Hope that makes sense.

    Hi, thanks for the video... thinking of buying these but your Amazon link says out of stock. Questions; I assume the motion detection if on and I set limits, with notification on, it will still send notification when I come and go? Which means I will need to turn off motion detection notification when I'm awake and don't want my phone dinging every time I go in-and-out? It seems if you have several cameras and you are in-and-out and around your property the notifications would need to be turned off and manually turned on when you leave your house.

    The activity zone says that the gray areas are the inactive areas so the information you gave would be incorrect correct?? Also I am having an issue with my cameras detecting motion. Is there anything I need to do in order to get them to detect the motion?? Going to restart my module and see if that works
