Whenever I hear this song I can't help but think of the plane crash that took the lives of lead singer Ronnie Van Zant and two other band members. It's incredible that the band was able to recover and continue to perform to this day.🎶🎸👍
When you have the chance you should watch this song live! That's the only way to get the full effect!
7/2/1972 Oakland Coliseum.
1977. The "Day on the Green" concerts held in the Oakland Coliseum every summer were legendary even way back when. The billing line up for that concert was Peter Frampton, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Santana, and the Outlaws.
@@mikecaetano yes! They blew them all away in my opinion!
I agreed, live performance Even Better
This iconic 70's song is considered as "Southern Rock", and the 🎸solo is legendary in the annals of Rock music, nice reaction JJ...
...and worth every single second of it❣️
Mega rock classic track
Free Bird! The full album version, nice! FM rock radio stations often played the long version late at night back when I was a kid. I heard the song so many times since its parts are seared in my brain, counting off the measures in the verses to the place where the bird takes flight three guitars in tow. The way they pull the song back at the end before the coda and the fade out is really tasty. At live shows back in the nineties we started shouting "Free Bird", sometimes ironically, sometimes tauntingly, at bands with guitar players who took long indulgent solos. Then it just became a thing to yell. There's a live clip of Lynyrd Skynyrd playing this song at a stadium concert that's pretty good. It was filmed about a month before the tragic plane crash that tore the band apart.
This song literally takes flight, and soars. It is outside of my usual...but few songs take me where this one does. Amazing, ICONIC...there are no words good enough to describe it. RIP to Ronnie Van Zandt, Steve and Cassie Gaines, and Dean Kilpatrick. p.s. If driving within the speed limit is your thing...don't EVER drive down the highway with this playing.....just...don't DO IT!! LOL.
😄, you beat me to this one Cornelia, great request, it was on the "🪣" list, classic 70's Rock music from LS...
I knew it wouldn't be long before one of y'all came with it!! There are so many times where I'm like....aww man....WHY didn't I THINK of that one!! 😁@@ShawnC.T.
The “One More From The Road” live version is that much more epic.
Great reaction!! You need to see the live version. There are a couple available out there! Keep up the great work!!
🔥❤️🔥🔥RIP. Saw them perform this live when i was a teen.
Enjoyed this request & reaction.
To me, "Free Bird" is one of the top rock-n-roll songs of all time alongside the Eagle's "Hotel California". The British greatest song is "Stairway to Heaven" - in my opinion. So hard to choose. Great reaction!
Great song - but always brings me back to KSAN (former rock station) - woke up to them playing this pretty much all day because of the crash.
I play tf out of this song on guitar hero 😎
Iconic.
This song is so deep considering the band’s demise 😢😢😢😢😢
🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥
What? Cornelia sis uh oh not you Lynyrd skynyrd girl I see you 🥰🥰🥰🥰
This song grabbed a hold on me and would not let go...LOL.
@@TaylorMadeCori haha I hear you when a song grabs you it grabs ya no matter how it sounds 😆
Now that's what I'm talking about
The worlds greatest breakup song.
