Ernesto Lecuona Cordoba from the Suite Andalucia Thomas Tirino, Pianist from a live All-Lecuona Piano Recital, University of Miami, Gusman Concert Hall, November 14, 2003
This was "Cordoba" beautifully played! I know that Ernesto Lecuona wrote for and played the piano, but it's a shame that Thomas Trino didn't have a string section to back and fill out his wonderful performance! But still, Bravo Thomas Trino!!
Great, even better is Trino playing Malaguena WOW!. Some of the best Spanish music is by a Cuban! 2nd place on Malaguena belongs to Liberace, surprise! Lecuona is vastly underrated, several of his song inspired entire movies, like "Noche Azul". The composer himself a fantastic pianist comes in close 3rd.
The problem is that English-language keyboards do not have a way to place accents over vowels. You have to memorize that in pronouncing the place name Cordoba, the accent falls on the first syllable, NOT the second. (Just another way that English is difficult to spell, even for native speakers like me.)
It really remains me of Cordoba, it's wonderful Mezquita and its moorish past!!
That was so good! So much emotion and expression. Now -- if I can only remember it until I get back to the piano to play it ....
MOMENTOS INOLVIDABLES ! BELLO !
Bello, Bello!

No es Cordoba sino Córdoba, que forma parte de Andalucía, al sur de España.

Dificilmente superable, muy bien.

The description could use some punctuation.

Who is this pianist?
Thomas Tirino, from Argentina. He’s one of the best contemporary interpreter of the great Cuban Ernesto Lecuona’s compositions.
Student of Gorodnitsky at Juilliard, but not certain of his dates at the school. What a marvelous artist!
