I thought i recognised Al , met him at the Specialized trail days event at Glentress and he very kindly gave is a wee dram of some very fine local whisky 🥃 top man
Bloody good ride guy! I was with you on that…I could feel your europhia when you were flying down those hills, properly made me feel like moving home and come riding with you. What an awesome day out. Glad you were sensible and paced it out, no point in flying off in the first 10k if you’re going to drag along the rest of the way….loved the gentle leg pulling of those ripping it up though, I swear they all think they are Waloons named Mathieu.
Full respect to the fast folks. I know a few of them and the work they put in as prep is phenomenal. Glad you enjoyed riding along anyway it was definitely party pace for us. Great to feel fresh on Monday morning not broken for the whole week though 😅
Hi Guy, enjoyed the video, great effort. On the cargo pockets: I personally love 'em, they're so much easier to access than my rear jersey pockets, particularly useful for stuffing empty gel and bar wrappers. The un-aero aspect certainly not an issue for most gravel riders.
That must feel like a 200 plus mile road ride, pretty gnarly. Wish you would do a basic 'this is what I do' type vid as no idea what regular training you do for that level of fitness.
I’m going to start doing some “How to” features like that soon as I get some spare time but be warned they’ll be very much ‘Kes style’ rather than proper science!
You might have been dropped by the racing snakes off the start but few of them held a candle to your descending skills! 👏👏👏😂 Looks like a great day out. Shame its so far away (for me).
I fancied doing this event but sold out in no time. How many people did the event totally unprepared. Like your mate Al who to quote you hasn't ridden much recently. Anyway ended the circle circle now. Weather should be better lol.
Any thoughts Guy on Kona going belly up? Looks like a Chain Reaction situ with Kent Outdoors aiming to flog the IP and fire all the staff/close shop. Awful.
No it doesn't. Chain Reaction, Kona, Pole (Finnish emtb brand) and more companies hitting the wall like dominos and industry rumours about both Trek and Specialized who suddenly have a 50% off sale this week and are closing some brands and doing worldwide lay offs. All looks pretty scary.

Loved this content Guy. Thanks for the introduction to Dirty Reiver. It looks like an amazing event. Thank you. 👌
Thanks mate, if you fancy it next year get ready for the ticket rush. It sells out super fast
Excellent video! You both almost made it look easy. 👏💪
I think it was easier for me than Al, he’s been rough for a while with the lurgi
Still one of the best gravel rides I’ve had was our Grinduro ride, might have to get on the dirty reamer next year
Brilliant video as always

Fair point in the pockets. I’ll have to try some different options

Al would love to have been better prepped if he hadn’t been ill!
Although quite exciting not knowing whether you'll fall to pieces and need carrying home.

Don't know any more about the situation than you do I'm afraid. Definitely doesn't sounds like good news for an iconic brand though

You still descend like an MTB boy playing around up at Stainburn
