i think you misunderstood the advanced trailer brake system. it works in the way that it senses its a trailer behind pushing the tractor forward. so lets say youre just easing of the throttle or using the drivestick and pulling it back. normally with no trailer you have decent stopping force just from that (and with exhaust brake) but once you got a trailer on youd have to apply the foot brake to get the trailer to slow down, ATB will automatically apply correct braking force without you using the foot brake on the tractor. in doing so you save alot of wear on the brakes of the tractor and you also have an even braking force over the whole lenght of the setup + no jack knifing.
ATB is also not new or exclusive for the new AFS Connect series, if i remember correctly it came first on the lwb puma's and optums in 2019 although not 100% sure. my 2020 puma 175 (swb) has the option, currently its locked for me cause i dont have any trailers on air just yet but ill unlock the feature once i do
