That whole texting the staff for assistance is such a great perk! We had that at an Anaheim resort we stayed at near Disneyland. One night, it was very late and the family next door was just so loud and disruptive. I texted the staff to let them know and they took care of it within minutes. I was very impressed. Great review, Jen!
Looks so amazing! I remember visiting Taliesin West as a kid and just being blown away by the architecture in the area. I haven’t been back to the area in a long time.
Thanks for the review. The hotel looks amazing. For a swede those resort fees are very strange. We try to book hotels that don't have them. Parking fee we understand. Thanx for explaining when to tip for vallet parking. How much would one tip, btw? We can't wait for this pandemic to be over so we can go back to the US for vacation.
If you wanted to do a video all about tipping, that would be super helpful. I know how to tip my servers, hair stylist, etc but when it comes to travel I'm never sure who and how much to tip, especially in different cultures (meaning countries, but also I would consider WDW and the Biltmore two different cultures; should we tip the same at each resort?). I'm not even sure what's appropriate to tip the Uber driver!!
The nighttime photos of the Biltmore are striking-a late night walk must be so beautiful. I hope the thunder was the loudest thing you heard in your room 😉
Looks amazing - love the architectural details and Frank Lloyd Wright touches. Was lucky enough to grow up nearby(ish) to Fallingwater and always loved to go visit because his style is unmistakable and very, very cool. Those sprites from Midway Gardens are SO interesting!!! Glad you had a much better visit this time and got to hang out and have quality time with your mom.
I am adding this to my bucket list!!! Thanks so much Jen! I got that same old hollywood feel at the Omni in Washington DC and loved it. Can't wait to give this a try
Hello, I am a native Arizonan. Rainy weather at the end of July is not abnormal as it is typically monsoon season around that time. And last year around that time when you were here, we did have a very healthy monsoon season.
Yup. I lived there for 15 years and two of my three kids were born there so I know monsoons but this was very different than anything I'd ever experienced.
Who gave this video a thumbs down?? What is wrong with you negative Nellies???? Seriously what is the issue? I'm going to choose to believe that they are actually giving the thumbs down to the Resort Fee. :-)
Yes, I lived there for 15 years (went to college, got married and had my kids there) but the all day everyday rain is different even for normal monsoon season. And the 75 degrees was DEFINITELY different but in a good way!
@@JoyfulLivingwithJenLefforge You are right about the temperature, we did set a record of lowest July temp since 1915! In terms of the rain... I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I notice when we get a system that comes through we do tend to get on and off rain for several days up to a week. Either way, it was awesome this past week! Hope you enjoyed your vaca!
Wow, what a beautiful building! Gorgeous! I would LOVE to stay there but I am afraid it is a little out of my budget baha :p But wow, I love the history of it too and those statues as well, thank you for sharing that!
Not a dumb question at all! It's not associated with the Bitlmore and was named that because the bricks it was built from are referred to as Biltmore Bricks.
Did you go on the free, guided historic tour of the hotel? When I was there, they were offered on Thursdays and Saturdays. There is so much history are architectural excellence at The Arizona Biltmore.
Uber or Lyft or Super Shuttle if you're coming from SNA and the Disneyland Bus if you're coming from LAX (which I don't recommend but is usually much cheaper to fly into). It's readily available and you can either book in advance or walk up (or at least you could pre-covid they may always require reservations now). I'm not sure who runs it but it goes non-stop to the Disneyland resort area hotels with several stop in the neighborhood so one is bound to be close to your hotel.
We love the Fairmont but very different experiences. I feel like this is a much better stay if you want the "old Phoenix" vibe but if you're looking for a true resort vacation, the Fairmont might be your best bet (we used to live right by there in fact and love that area)

Glamorous hotel. I love the old-school photos. We've driven by; now I wish we'd stayed. I truly enjoy your style of reviews.
That does look glamorous Jen, the old style Hollywood vibe is so luxurious. As long as its not the Tower of Terror!
Wasn't that letter box giving off MAJOR Tower of Terror vibes?? I should have mentioned that because I totally felt it, Steve! LOL
@@JoyfulLivingwithJenLefforge yes the lobby photo at 2.09 and the bar photo at 2.48 give me the feeling of TOT but without the Terror part!
Looks AMAZING! 😯😊❤ Spending times with our mother's are always special. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on your stay❤😍❤
Looks so amazing! I remember visiting Taliesin West as a kid and just being blown away by the architecture in the area. I haven’t been back to the area in a long time.
Our first apartment was right near there!
Looks beautiful! What a special setting for some quality time with your mom!
I was there in 2019 for a work meeting and enjoyed a wonderful treatment at the spa! Glad you enjoyed your visit and had good mother/daughter time.
We stayed here back in the 90's and has always been one of my favorite hotels (and we've been all over the world!).
It really is lovely! I hope to go back soon.
Very nice review. I will probably never make it out there, but it was lovely to see it through your eyes.

My pleasure, Ann! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

Beautiful resort! I love Frank Lloyd Wright and the story of those statues is very cool. Thanks for sharing!
So glad that you had a better stay this time! Love how historic this hotel is and how stunningly beautiful it is!
Yes it's truly STUNNING.
I’m so glad you had a better stay this time! It looks amazing!
I am SO GLAD I decided to give it another chance! I will definitely be back!
Love the Biltmore!! Glad you had a great stay in AZ!
The nighttime photos of the Biltmore are striking-a late night walk must be so beautiful. I hope the thunder was the loudest thing you heard in your room 😉
Kelly we heard NOT A THING. It was remarkable.
Staying there in 2 weeks. Hoping for a great stay.

Midway Gardens - exactly. Thank you! And yes, Charlie, truly it's such a peaceful place when it's not under construction. 😂
Very cool. I love the mix of the history and modern design. Those beds look quite inviting and ohmygosh 7 pools?!... I'm booking now! 😄 Thanks Jen!

LOL honestly both thumbs up and thumbs down are positive for the metrics so doesn't bother me in the least.
Hi! I live in AZ, just FYI this is actually monsoon season 🙂 so this is actually normal for July In AZ. We worry if we don't get rain in July.

3:37 Wow - when you can tell just by LOOKING that a bed is going to be insanely comfortable :D :D
Yeah it was next level.
Would love to go to Phoenix one day!

I'm not sure they were offering it when I was there but I'll definitely add it to my list for next time!
What a beautiful hotel!
This seems like a truly relaxing location

It looks like a wonderful property. I wish I was there and not in the office during a system conversion! 😊
Well I'm glad I could take you away for a few minutes, anyway! Hang in there, Ashlyn!
I am at Disney and having a great time
Do you think staying here over a 5 star like the fairmont would be worth it?
