the reset is from the passive stacks not the assist. when an enemy dies with passive venome on them u get the reset. when he auto xin he got his passive on him but did not deal damage

Support players at that level have are kinda... special you can't flame them even once, or they play even worse, try to be nice even if you don't mean it. It works most of the time. Though, if they're shit, there's no saving the game lol But yeah the hook at melee range (missing of course) and then flay, losing the trade, is a certified hood classic, all adcs know.

Honestly you only hook first if you are 200% confident you are either going to land it or not be penalized for missing it, and you rarely not get penalized nowadays so... :)
No one hooks into flay, it's always flay into hook (even when I was Silver 1, I saw this). My guess is that he was just so confident he would hit the hook, its more "effective CC" by hooking into flaying, and if it lands, he dies before he has a chance to flash (if he doesn't flash the hook)
