Hi Flis, I am a recent subscriber. I currently have an autotrail tracker and when I got my previous van (an autosleeper kingham) I attended a day training course to improve my skills. As I now tow a VW Up on an aframe some info on this would be good. Reversing is impossible.
    Thanks Malcolm

Hi Malcolm. Welcome to the channel. Reversing with an A-frame is nigh on impossible unless in a straight line. Going forward, turn later round corners to allow for the trailing car and really stick to the outer edge of a roundabout when going ahead to ensure the outfit stays within its lane. If you want to send me an email fliss@thetrailerlady.co.uk with your contact details, I'd be happy to chat further with you 😊

Hi Fliss, I’m enjoying your channel and your very clear diction. 7 years ago I used to tow a Lunar Clubman caravan with a Ford Mondeo estate and used Milenco towing mirrors. We are just about to get a Bailey D4-4 to tow behind a swb Citroen relay campervan (which is wider than a regular car) but the mirrors are much larger than on a regular car and they have mirror guard protectors on too which makes them even bigger. My question to you is, are you aware of any towing mirrors that are likely to fit the van or are the van mirrors likely to be acceptable? Tia.

Thank you for the lovely feedback. The first thing to do is couple your car and caravan and park in a perfect straight line. If you can see all the way down the side of the outfit to the rear corner of the caravan, then you don't need towing mirrors because the van and caravan are the same width. If this is not the case, then mirrors will be required. The only mirrors I can think of that may fit are the Maypole Towing Mirrors www.thatleisureshop.com/maypole-caravan-towing-mirror-with-convex-glass-universal-strap-fixing-single/
Use the code THETRAILERLADY at the checkout to get 10% off your first order.
They have a scissor type arm, which is the most adjustable, and I've used them on vans before. It could be you have to sacrifice the mirrorguards to fit the mirrors, which I appreciate isn't ideal.
      I hope that helps?
