- Here is a short clip taken from a large collection of home movies belonging to the family of famous British actress Vivien Leigh.
Vivien Leigh won two Academy Awards for Best Actress, for her definitive performances as Scarlett O'Hara in Gone with the Wind (1939) and Blanche DuBois in the film version of A Streetcar Named Desire (1951).
Alive Studios are proud to have been chosen to handle the large archive of 16mm films covering the private life of Vivien Leigh with friends and family.
The films were in quite poor condition, clearly having been well watched over the years. Some were suffering from water damage, others were caked in mould. Careful, painstaking efforts were made by the Alive Studios team to clean and restore every inch of film. - ภาพยนตร์และแอนิเมชัน
My mother was the virtual twin of Vivien Leigh, even down to her micro-expressions.All through her life, folks commented on it. The little sly smile she does in GWTW? My mum did that. She also struggled with her mental health. I cannot see any film of Vivien without crying. She looks so much like my late mother. I hope both are at peace. I miss her greatly.

@@temi8149 No actually she had mental problems. Bipolar among others. Plus she spent her life in love with a gay man who though he loved her, couldn't be fateful. She had a hard life. Money doesn't always buy happiness. She was actually very sweet. Maybe do some research in an honest post or story. She wasn't the monster, haters say she was. They were just jealous.
So what happen? Did you married and name your children Rhett and Scarlett?
The restoration is amazing. Her face is stunning. My Vivling, now and always.

Vivien Leigh was a perfect specimen of womanhood to the world but having read a detailed book about her life recently, it is clear that happiness was elusive for much of her all-too-short time on earth. An interesting connection can be made between Alive Studios of Teignmouth, Devon and the world famous actress. When Vivien was at boarding school in Surrey she became friends with a girl who lived in this lovely coastal resort.She came down to visit on occasions and it was here that Vivien met her first husband, a Barrister, Leigh Holman, whose family lived at the top of Breakneck Hill, Teignmouth. They married in the early 1930s and had a daughter. Life moved on swiftly and Laurence Olivier became the great love of her life. Even that marriage failed but she stayed friends with both of them until her tragically early death aged 54 of tuberculosis in 1967
Thank you, Viv, for connecting the dots between Vivien Leigh and Teignmouth. It’s fascinating how our lovely seaside town has attracted an eclectic crowd over the years. From literary icons like Jane Austen and John Keats in the early 1800s to rock legends Muse, and the dashing Colin Firth who graced our town during the filming of the 2018 movie The Mercy. I wonder how many other stars have graced our promenade?
