Yeah. I think that's where things went downhill. Kids are so protected nowadays and have been since the early 2000's. And with kids being so protected, they can pretty much do whatever they want. There is so many laws now to parenting that kids can't be disciplined anymore. We need to go back to the 80's and 90's when disciplining was allowed. And there is a difference between a spank/smack and "putting someone through a wall."

Internet was REALLY there in the 2000’s. 90’s, the internet was still very rare. But by 2000-2002, the internet was VERY common and everyone had it. But when I say protected, I’m talking protected from being disciplined, not internet related stuff. I talked back to my parents or did something I wasn’t supposed to, I got a beating. Kids today and kids starting from the early 2000’s have been protected from that kind of stuff since it’s now against the law to spank/smack/hit a child. It’s getting ridiculous that you can’t even yell at a child. And because there is this lack of discipline, kids are running around and doing whatever they want. And they are taking things to the internet. The only difference between internet in the late 90’s/2000’s and today was lack of social media. But there was still message boards/forums and also something like ICQ Messenger for people to go on and have their voices heard and stuff. Those were the early stages of social media. But message boards and ICQ weren’t as ridiculous as stuff now. People were still kinder and stuff back then that what they are now. And it’s more than likely that disciplining was still a thing and allowed. Those on the internet in those days got a beating or two as a kid.

How many times do we see kids joining inappropriate communities (e.g., weird furry roleplay DMs), or getting groomed by some influencer online? Funny thing is, the game features LGTBQ+ characters with no condescending, demeaning or glorifying approach. It felt like a natural integration of diversity than any other game I've seen (a few more exceptions though).

By the way if you actually play the game, it’s completely non transphobic. Theres a trans woman as part of the main CAST. Totally respectable character with side missions and backstory attached to her. YOUR OWN CHARACTER can be technically trans, by choosing a Male body and choosing to be called a Witch. During the entirety of the game other characters refer to you as “they/them” no matter what you choose. The game is FUN and VERY well made. People worked they’re asses off, so go support them. They’ve earned it.

What they dont seem to understand is regardless of if games like those are still pirated or ignored, developers would still have to pay royalties to those who have had their books or movies adapted into a game. I remember playing video games based off of movies and the reason we dont see those kind anymore is due the plots of them being SO different to the original source material. So much so, that they couldve been their own games. This was a major gamble as they couldve made them into their own game franchise, but instead having to rely on an existing name. Doing this however, will make it so that regardless of hoe good or bad it turns out, residuals ALWAYS go to the original source.

The issue people have is that Rowling donates money to lobbying groups that take rights away from trans people and therefore spending money on anything that gives her royalties contributes to that.
However, even if she does get royalties from the game (which is questionable in the first place), it is such a miniscule drop in the bucket that I don't think it really means anything.
