Tunnel Mountain Summit, Banff

Tunnel Mountain located in Banff, Banff National Park, is the park’s smallest official mountain. You can easily get to the trailhead on foot from Banff town centre. We did this hike in September 2024. We started from the public washrooms located in the corner of Banff Avenue and Wolf Street and finished at the corner of Banff Avenue and Caribou Street. Our return trip was 6.3km with 328m elevation gain under 2 hours in total. The official website says 260m elevation gain if you start from the lower parking area on St. Julien Road. Was it easy hike? No rock climbing/jumping?

No rock scrambling/climbing. Other than the ascent (no mountain or summit without ascent right?), the track is relatively easy and well maintained.
