I am a little unclear on a couple of things IS this a true NAS? Can a windows pc find and map the drive and have full access to the partitions and files on the drive just using windows explorer without an app? Because I am using windows is there a way to add devices to the network without scanning the qr code? Thanks in advance
That's a great question! Currently I was unable to connect my Windows PC to the NAS with the available software on their website because it was coded in another language. I hope they will have a new version released soon so it can be accessible via PC.
Great question! According to the WeLine.io website (Security settings such as access times and expiration dates can be set for data sharing to avoid unlimited and unrestricted misuse of data.) I will look further into the app to get you a more defined answer... Thanks for the feedback!
Great question! I recommend having another copy of your data in at least 3 locations. 1 in the NAS, 1 in a cloud based storage location and 1 on another offline storage unit like a flash drive or external hard drive at a different location. I would do monthly backups on the other locations to keep everything synced up. Better to be safe than sorry.
This looks good! Can the unit run a plex server? This reminds me of zimaboard. If you're familiar with the zimaboard, do they work the same way? Can you access it remotely too?

i thought this will be my alternative for the synology, but sadly it does not work on pc,. you need to plug the usb to pc to work,. sad!
Yes after the initial Setup you can map as Network Drive
Is this able to connect to 2 SSD?
can you limit the max storage shared to other users?

How bog of a hard drive can it handle . Whats the bigges HD you can add to the box?
physical size 2.5" capacity 8TB Max
Great question! The 2.5" version (CD2510) can handle up to 8 Terabytes and the 3.5" version (CD3510) can handle up to 22 Terabytes.
If the hdd suddenly fails then all my data will be lost. Is there any way to avoid data loss?

Can i connect my iphone ios?
Great question! Yes, there is an IOS version of the WeLine app. apps.apple.com/us/app/weline-io/id1495146123
Hey man, can I connect Nextcloud to this gadget?
Thanks for the great question! It seems that the proprietary Weline.io software that works with this device does not support NextCloud.
This looks good! Can the unit run a plex server? This reminds me of zimaboard. If you're familiar with the zimaboard, do they work the same way? Can you access it remotely too?
So we couldn't get it working and contacted ORICO and they confirmed, you can't run PLEX server from it.
Too bad it would have been a great little “nas”
It still works great as a NAS. Unfortunately, the proprietary software was only supports devices that can run the WeLine app. @@promanila2552
I was able to make Plex Media Server and Kodi work via SMB.
