Awesome, thanks for this. I'm on an 890 R now, and considering an 500 EXC-F or 350 EXC-F so it's cool to hear from someone just making that transition!

@@PandaintheDirt glad to help! Really depends on the type of ridding you plan on doing. I would not do a long adventure on the 500 but as a weekend off road bike the 500 is awesome!

Try to adjust the idle. Mine came running pretty low so after that there was no flame outs

it is a must to get a power commander or a aftermarket ECU for one of these machines, they will pull like a 450 or even outpull a 450

I just watched your previous video, so now you've got a way better dirt bike, but surely now you'll need another bike for road work.
    Great bike either way.

If you balance the wheels , install a seat concepts XL seat , Maybe put a small Baja windscreen on.This bike is a fantastic dual sport bike.I have done 400 mile a day on my bike That's not km. 200-250 Seems to be the sweet spot for bike Both dirt and road. Congrats on the bike.

Your title is perfect: “road legal dirt bike.” My 790R could handle the trails in your video, but the KTM 500 is a much better choice. My ‘24 500 EXC has Euro ECU, intake reeds removed, and exhaust screen removed, 15/48 sprockets and Taco Moto tidy tail. I have been to 95 mph and the bike was still accelerating with no problems. However, I consider the EXC a street legal enduro, not a dual sport because it is not comfortable on the highway. I prefer my 790R for everything other than single track or motocross which my 500 is great for. To me, the perfect combo is 790/890R and 350/500 EXC. When my 790R dies, I will replace it with an 890R.

Lol so you did go in a similar direction as I did.I got my 501 late in the season so I only have about 120km on it ,but I feel this is the best stock suspension I have ever had on a KTM or Husky. Enjoy your new ride and keep posting about your new adventures and mods to the bike if any .Check out Taco Moto for upgrades. first thing I did was order new tires the factory ones are not good at all offroad dont forget those tires have no rim locks on them. One thing that is really disappointing is the cost of the mount for a Scotts damper, its around $700.😔

@@hardyeleonore thank you! Tires was the first upgrade on the bike. Mine was sitting at 1400kms as of two weeks ago 😁
