Pastor Winans was rich before ministry and he always worked. A salary for 60k a year isn't fleecing the sheep. Most mega pastors gets at least 10 million or more yearly. GOD didn't say u couldn't be paid for full time ministry. Pastor Winans said u are not supposed to charge 2 preach at somebody else church. In biblical days u threw your tithes and offerings at the leaders feet. GOD also said give to a prophet to receive a prophets reward. Marvin Winans don't have money lines for him. He asked for build fund money only when the church was being built. I was a member and know for a fact he was not a prosperity preacher. He receives royalties. He does movies, sings professionally since he was a child, concerts, he writes books and songs plus he plays instruments . Sorry pastor Jennings misread pastor Winans. Pastor Winans have celebrities who send offerings and come 2 his church who chooses to support him and pastor Winans usually rejects the money and they insist. Full time ministry is a real job and 60 k a year is not asking too much at all. Marvin Winans other projects and jobs bring in his income. I know him and he is definitely not a prosperity preacher. Yes he has made some mistakes but he confessed his sins and repented.

I believe you are misunderstanding what pastor winans said on both respects. On one respect he's saying that there's nothing wrong with the pastor receiving an offering or a salary. And then on the other note he's talking about charging people for the gift itself: in other words he saying it's not right to demand someone to pay you to prophecy to them. 0r demand someone to pay you a certain amount of money when you come to preach What he's saying is it's okay to receive an offering but we don't charge like it's a job 0r commodity to make money off of. The example that passed a wine and gave about how this preacher conducted himself is a prime example as how we should not do. Now if he had came to preach and pastor winans took up an offering for him on his own free will then that would have been fine. But to tell somebody that you want a certain money amount just to show up is a disgrace to the pulpit. I have always wondered how it would be perceived if a pastor preached the gospel of Jesus Christ and his salvation and ability to provide and protect, yet the pastor is poor and broke. . . I feel many would wonder about the God being proclaiming. On the other hand, when the pastor is successful (according to our perception of success), there is seemingly always ridiculing and criticism to follow, and certainly speculation that the pastor is stealing money. It can’t be both ways. I’m confused.
Is being given a Salary the same as Charging. Salary is a set compensation given to help sustain the Pastor of the church, established by the board. Charging or as they say an Onararium differs from one place to another, having at minimum a set dollar amount, not to go below that price but can be exceeded, that that person has to have just to come and preach. I think the two are different.

That is correct but Pastor Winans cannot throw stones at another Pastor when he made big news and wound up being sued for firing one of his own employees for not paying tithes and offerings to the church. She was a single mother and was already struggling. If I remember the story correctly, the church started taking the tithes and offerings from her paycheck without her consent and the church eventually fired her. Thankfully, she hired an attorney to litigate on her behalf. In 1st Timothy 5:8 says that, " if a man cannot support his family or his relatives, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever." What Pastor Winans did to that woman was absolutely unacceptable. As long as mankind continues to have church services/gatherings, there will always be unbiblical practices regarding money, because somehow we always get it wrong...
I stopped going to church cause pastor wanted money every week including tidy and said he don't need our money .No body called and check on me every since mother's and fathers day I was ask to give 100$each not knowing if I had or not.then said praying at home God want you more at church so sad how they are using God name to get money. Sister, I am Apostolic to the core! I admonish you to use your energy to seek the LORD and thoroughly study HIS Word! If there is a battle between these two men, let them have it. The Bible cautions against speaking what we do not know. I am not one that promotes any gospel that is not solidly Apostolic; however, I also do not support debating what we are not sure about. You made some assumptions about what Mr. Winans was saying and it appears (based on my interpretation) that you are basing your argument on an erroneous interpretation of what said. I could have understood him wrongly, but I don't believe that I did. Additionally, are those that labor in the Gospel able to monetary benefit from it? Are they? Study the Word and ensure that your logic is Biblically sound. You need to study the Word to ensure that yourself is approved - not just regurgitating what you have heard. I love my sisters and brothers in the LORD but we need to be careful with the bashing spirit and in simply ensuring that how we use our time and what we choose to do is in the will of GOD! It is a huge conclusion to draw things about someone and labor them with such adjectives that you did without really understanding what they are saying. Be careful! And remember....... with love and kindness! JESUS taught HIS Word with great humility! The Apostle Paul was a tent maker however some of the church in 1 Corinthians 9:1-18 asked for financial support for the people he served and 2 Corinthians 8:7-15

What Jesus said in Matthew 28:19 is one of the most important yet misunderstood Scriptures in the new Testament. Some say the Thief on the cross next to Jesus was not baptized yet Jesus told him he would be with him that day in paradise. Jesus had not given the COMMANDMENT to be baptized in his Name until after He rose from the dead and just before He ascended to heaven. The thief or anyone else at that time could not have done it because they did not know about it. If you are convinced you need to get Baptized in water in Jesus Name, do a search, type in "United Pentecostal Church International", slightly scroll down to just below the red box, type in your zip code, then a screen will show a Church nearest you that will do that. If you get Baptized in water Jesus Name, and get baptized with the Holy Ghost which is addressed in Mark 16:17 (Jesus speaking) Acts 2:3-4 (Pentecost). Acts 8:17, Acts 9:18, Acts 10:44-48, and Acts 19:3-5 - which is when the Spirit of Christ initially dwells in a person. Nowhere in Scripture does it say it happens any other way than that way. There is not one Scripture that says a person receives the Holy Ghost just because they are a believer. Acts 19:1-5 is a good example. Paul said in Romans 8:9-11,”But you are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if so be that the spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, HE IS NONE OF HIS." If you do the above you will be making SURE your name is written in the Lamb's Book Of Life. Jesus said in Matthew 24:4,"Take heed that no man deceives you." Read 1Corianthians ch.9v.14. Those who preach the gospel should be financially supported by the church. They shouldn't demand a certain salary, but they should be supported. Also they should work and help provide for themselves and their families as well ❤.

Read Luke 10:7 see what Jesus says. Then read 1 Timothy 5:18. Pastor is trying to fuse two things. No a preacher should charge but the word of God says that a payment is due them. Not a charge. Honestly, this is one of those those secondary issues that we could debate forever, and I personally don’t think it’s a salvation issue. But I will say is that people have to make a living, and if we want full time ministers, then we have to support them financially. I understand that there’s greed and abuses, but there’s nothing wrong with compensation leaders in ministry.
You are so on point. We gave our pastor a salary but he was anointed to lay hands on the sick and he had a spirit of discernment. So if he was not saved why did God use him mightily? Jennings fits the scripture the letter killeth but the Spirit makes alive. 2 Corinthians 3:6.
God didn’t call the rich to be pastors. Because they can buy property set up shop. And call it their house. Well if you are already rich. How does God word that you will have houses you didn’t build and vineyards you didn’t plant in. When you have chosen an organization you find meaning don’t you support it finically. Your job couldn’t pay for 2 house notes, church vans to pick up members electricity bill pay the insurance on the church. A Pastor is responsible for preaching, communicating with the flock, counseling, and praying for individuals. They get calls in the middle of the night to pray for others. Hello, I think as a pastor for a church is different from just preaching. There are cost associated with his pastoral work. Visit the sick, traveling for kingdom assignments, just the things you do as a pastor. I watch my pastor uses his own money all the time for church matters and he left his job where he could be making 6 figures. God told the Levites/the priest in the book of Leviticus, they were separated to do the Lords work. I think preaching and pastoral work has different responsibilities. I can only speak for my pastor but he dedicated his entire days to serve the church and the demands are great. I feel if it you were in the position understanding the big picture you would say something different. There is a difference between exploitation and someone who is dedicated to the service of the Lord.

Pastoring is separate from preaching. Preaching is the major part of pastoring, but it is the smallest piece of pastoring. What I mean is you can be a preacher but not a pastor.

A preacher is different than a pastor. If all he does is preach, then he is exercising his gift given by God. Pastoring full time is much more involved with counseling, visiting the sick, etc. That is the difference, also the levitical priesthood was taken care of.

Pastoring is a job, like any other job one should be able to provide for his own from that job. Like any other job if you need more money you get something to supplement that job. Very few men, no women and no children qualify. 1 Timothy 3:1-7 gives the qualifications for a preacher. Don't be fooled by anyone who doesn't measure up.
Pastoring is work. God paid salaries to the Old Testament priests (pastors), but it's not allowed today? I believe you are misunderstanding what pastor winans said on both respects.
On one respect he's saying that there's nothing wrong with the pastor receiving an offering or a salary.
And then on the other note he's talking about charging people for the gift itself: in other words he saying it's not right to demand someone to pay you to prophecy to them. 0r demand someone to pay you a certain amount of money when you come to preach
What he's saying is it's okay to receive an offering but we don't charge like it's a job 0r commodity to make money off of.

I have always wondered how it would be perceived if a pastor preached the gospel of Jesus Christ and his salvation and ability to provide and protect, yet the pastor is poor and broke. . . I feel many would wonder about the God being proclaiming.
On the other hand, when the pastor is successful (according to our perception of success), there is seemingly always ridiculing and criticism to follow, and certainly speculation that the pastor is stealing money.
It can’t be both ways. I’m confused.
Is being given a Salary the same as Charging.
Salary is a set compensation given to help sustain the Pastor of the church, established by the board.
Charging or as they say an Onararium differs from one place to another, having at minimum a set dollar amount, not to go below that price but can be exceeded, that that person has to have just to come and preach. I think the two are different.

That is correct but Pastor Winans cannot throw stones at another Pastor when he made big news and wound up being sued for firing one of his own employees for not paying tithes and offerings to the church. She was a single mother and was already struggling. If I remember the story correctly, the church started taking the tithes and offerings from her paycheck without her consent and the church eventually fired her. Thankfully, she hired an attorney to litigate on her behalf. In 1st Timothy 5:8 says that, " if a man cannot support his family or his relatives, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever." What Pastor Winans did to that woman was absolutely unacceptable. As long as mankind continues to have church services/gatherings, there will always be unbiblical practices regarding money, because somehow we always get it wrong...

Sister, I am Apostolic to the core! I admonish you to use your energy to seek the LORD and thoroughly study HIS Word! If there is a battle between these two men, let them have it. The Bible cautions against speaking what we do not know. I am not one that promotes any gospel that is not solidly Apostolic; however, I also do not support debating what we are not sure about. You made some assumptions about what Mr. Winans was saying and it appears (based on my interpretation) that you are basing your argument on an erroneous interpretation of what said. I could have understood him wrongly, but I don't believe that I did. Additionally, are those that labor in the Gospel able to monetary benefit from it? Are they? Study the Word and ensure that your logic is Biblically sound. You need to study the Word to ensure that yourself is approved - not just regurgitating what you have heard. Honestly, this is one of those those secondary issues that we could debate forever, and I personally don’t think it’s a salvation issue. But I will say is that people have to make a living, and if we want full time ministers, then we have to support them financially. I understand that there’s greed and abuses, but there’s nothing wrong with compensation leaders in ministry.

Hello, I think as a pastor for a church is different from just preaching. There are cost associated with his pastoral work. Visit the sick, traveling for kingdom assignments, just the things you do as a pastor. I watch my pastor uses his own money all the time for church matters and he left his job where he could be making 6 figures. God told the Levites/the priest in the book of Leviticus, they were separated to do the Lords work. I think preaching and pastoral work has different responsibilities. I can only speak for my pastor but he dedicated his entire days to serve the church and the demands are great. I feel if it you were in the position understanding the big picture you would say something different. There is a difference between exploitation and someone who is dedicated to the service of the Lord.

A preacher is different than a pastor. If all he does is preach, then he is exercising his gift given by God. Pastoring full time is much more involved with counseling, visiting the sick, etc. That is the difference, also the levitical priesthood was taken care of.

Pastoring is a job, like any other job one should be able to provide for his own from that job. Like any other job if you need more money you get something to supplement that job. Very few men, no women and no children qualify. 1 Timothy 3:1-7 gives the qualifications for a preacher. Don't be fooled by anyone who doesn't measure up.

Pastoring is work. God paid salaries to the Old Testament priests (pastors), but it's not allowed today? God is the same yesterday, today & forever. 1 Corinthians 9:14 Even so hath the LORD ORDAINED that they which preach the gospel should live (salary/offering) of the gospel. Money in our day. (Animals & wheat, corn & barley on Old Testament times.) That's God's provision for today's Pastors, evangelists, prophets. Pastor Jennings is fortunate that he doesn't hold a 9 to 5 job & has a workable schedule. In early 90's Pastors worked due to low offerings, taking care of their families & pastoring which took a great tow on their bodies & families. Pastoring is a 24-hour each day 7 days a week.
